“I’m sorry about today.” Selah spoke as she bowed her head.
Silence continued since neither Lilo nor Selah spoke after that. An awkward silence settled in after Lilo didn’t respond to her. Selah wasn’t sure what to say after that. Looking at Lilo, he seemed to be storming out but still managing to hide it from her. She was about to get up and walked towards her room when suddenly Lilo cleared his throat and looked at her.
“You don’t have to apologize. I’ll do something about the loss.” He calmly replied.
“I’m really sorry. I’ll try to control it next time.” She said.
“Okay. I understand. Just be careful next time, okay?” he finally said.
After their conversation, Lilo reached for his phone and called someone outside. Selah went towards her room and clean after herself. It took for a while after Lilo knocked in her door as she was drying her hair after taking a shower.
“Can I come in?” he asked.
“Sure.” She replied.
They walked towards the small living room inside Selah’s room.
“I’ll be out tomorrow.” He said while staring at her.
“And?” she continued.
“Please look after yourself. I’ll better ask Eli to drive you after work tomorrow.” He said.
“What? Why it should be him?” she surprisingly asked.
“Eli is the only friend I ever trusted in my whole life. I’m sure he can drive you back safe.” He replied.
“I can also drive on my own.” She insisted.
“Alright! If you think you’ll be fine with that, go ahead. Just keep me updated if you get home from work.” He finally said.
He gave her a dry smile and that made Selah a bit relieved. However, realization what happened today came across her face and that made her sad. Lilo noticed her sudden change of expression.
“Why?” he simply asked.
“I’m just worried if you could really fix the mess I did today. I know how important those clients to the airlines.” She continued.
“Nah! Don’t worry about it. This isn’t the first time. So, I’m used to this kind of situation. I’ll surely find a way for this. Don’t blame yourself either.” He convinced her.
“Are you sure? If you need any help, I’ll do my best.” She assured him.
“I appreciate it, Selah.” He said offering her a smile. “It’s been a while since anyone try to help me out. So, I wasn’t sure what exactly to say or even feel.” He said.
Selah just nodded with a shy smile. They both knew they weren’t used to this kind of set up- explaining their sides.
“You know, it’s quite late. We better sleep and rest. Goodnight.” He said while tapping her back.
Selah just smiled at him and walked towards her bedroom. It’s twelve o’clock in the midnight but Selah can’t sleep maybe because of too many thoughts in her mind- about Lilo’s situation and what happened to the resort earlier. So, she decided to take a glass of water downstairs. She opened the refrigerator and poured a glass of water.
