Upon arriving to the mansion, Selah immediately opened the door next to her. The two get down immediately after realizing that she’s already outside the car. Selah walked before them and the two just followed her footsteps.

Right before Selah could step inside the entrance door of the mansion, Lilo grabbed her hand and that made her face shocked and reddened. Eli just looked away not anymore commenting towards Lilo’s gesture.

“Good evening, dear.” It was Lilo’s Aunt who welcomed them inside the mansion.

“Aunt Lydia…” He just replied.

“How are you, dear?” His aunt said referring to Selah. Her eyes looked down towards their hand holding each other.

“I’m fine.” She just replied.

“Oh, I didn’t know your mansion is already open to anybody lately? You might forget about your trust issues, Lilo.” She said while looking intently to Eli who was standing quietly behind them.

“What brings you here, aunt? I have a guest so if it’s not that important, you can set an appointment with my secretary tomorrow.” He seriously replied.

“Oh, Lilo! Don’t be so harsh towards your aunt. I stopped by to personally give my invitation about our family gathering that would be held in the next days. I’m expecting this time, you’re not alone going to our party.” She said while leading her eyes towards Selah who remained as quiet as Eli.

“Mom and I talked about this already. You don’t have to personally came here and waste your precious time with us.” He sarcastically replied.

“Why not? After all, I would like to secure an answer before I leave. Is it okay with you, Selah?” she asked directly towards her.

“Don’t talk to her nor dare touch her!” This time, Lilo’s face was really serious and his hands were already protective to Selah. His wife just stepped back that made her hiding in Lilo’s physically built body.

“Easy. I won’t if you told me so. But, at least she can answer me, right?” she sarcastically asked to him.

“Just leave!” he shouted that made Selah covered her ears. Eli grabbed her shoulder to protect and comfort her.

“See that?” Don’t be so confident about her.” His aunt finally said referring to Eli protecting Selah from Lilo’s back. Lilo just looked at them behind his back.

“Just leave or else I’ll call for the security.” He finally warned.

“Oh, I’m not threatened. After all, those securities at the gate let me in here.” She smirked and simply laughed at him.

Lilo just looked intently at her trying to convince her that he’s not faking his words this time- that he really meant it.

“Okay, fine. I’ll see you at the party. Regards to your mom.” She finally said and left them standing inside the living room.

After his aunt left, Selah and Lilo just stared each other’s hands wondering if who should pulled away first. Eli just cleared his throat and walked towards the kitchen to get a glass of water while Selah pulled away first and walked towards the staircase leading towards her room. Lilo was left standing at the living room.

“Aren’t you preparing a dinner for us” I’m free to help, dude.” He said while teasing him.

“Shut up! I’ll better change first.” He said as he also headed upstairs.

Eli was left in the kitchen. Few moments later, Eli found himself staring to Lilo and Selah who made their way down the staircase heading towards him. He tried to hide his thoughts.

“Something is wrong.” He thought to himself.

“You’re staring blankly again.” Lilo told him as he was approaching to the kitchen.

“Oh, I’m a bit hungry.” He tried to divert his attention to the food available in the fridge.

“Oh, I’m sorry. What did you say?” he tried to tease him this time. “Aren’t you just anybody in the house? Why are you demanding for food?” he laughingly asked.

“Come on, dude. I’m really hungry before we came here. Good thing is that I didn’t collapse with your aunt’s words earlier.” He said.

“Shhh, don’t mind her. She’s just getting old, that’s why.” He finally said.

Upon looking to Selah standing behind them at the kitchen, she seemed to miss the sarcasm between them because she tilted her head towards the glass door facing the securities standing at the main gate with a worried face.

“Hey, don’t mind her. Forget about what she said. It’s nonsense.” He convinced her.
Selah just looked at them and turned back to get some meat in the fridge. Eli interrupted their silence.

“Wow, wow, just wow! I never thought this day would come. Someone like Lilo would cook a dinner for us.” He triumphantly said.

Lilo just smirked at him.

“Just shut up! That would certainly be fine with us, right Selah?” he said.

Selah just nodded in response.

“Alright! Alright! I’ll better stop before I would be kicked out for nothing.” He said.
Lilo faked a laugh and tightened his grip in the pan. He planned to cook steak for dinner.

“Steak?” Selah asked him after his conversation with Eli.

“I planned to.” He simply replied.

Eli seemed to notice that Selah was a bit shy to ask him.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I better wait for the food in the living room. I’m quite bothering you two already.” He said while walking towards the living room.

“It’s fine, feel free to talk!” Lilo shouted at him.

“Nahh! You better focused on your menu.” Eli shouted back at him.

After a while, Selah asked him personally.

“You must be really serious about your aunt earlier.” She plainly said.

He just shrugged in response.

“What?” she asked.

His jaw just clenched so hard that she could almost notice his muscles. As much as Selah wanted to ask, she just hid her curiosity about his relationship with his aunt.

In the other side, Lilo tried to escape from their conversation by focusing more on his menu. Selah then decided not to try and start another conversation.

After their dinner, Lilo and Eli went towards the pool area and got each other two cans of beer. Selah decided to stay inside and zoned out from any of their conversation. She went inside her room after organizing the items that they bought earlier. She then proceeded to her room, sat in her bed and tried to fell asleep by reading some pages in the book.

From her balcony area, she can still hear Lilo and Eli’s loud laugh from time to time. She didn’t try to step outside the balcony since the air was a bit cool outside. The dimly lit balcony area invited her eyes to fall asleep.
