Right before eight o’clock, everything is set at the table. Though everything is simple, they ate and enjoyed the food prepared by them. Deep inside, they’re both happy. Too seldom they have shared a meal unless for breakfast at the mansion.
Moreover, too seldom they shared a meal together. So, for Lilo one quiet and simple meal is good enough for him to feel that he’s indeed a married man. A simple dinner without an argument made him happy enough to enjoy the meal.
After their dinner, Selah went towards the balcony and there she stared at the beautiful evening outside. The rain finally stopped from pouring. The stars finally shone brightly above the sky and a crescent moon peaked from the clouds.
Selah cupped her elbows feeling the cold outside with her light dress she took from her wardrobe.
“Wear this, you might catch colds.” He said from her back as he motioned his hands on her shoulder helping her to wear the blue cardigan.
“Thank you.” She simply said.
“No, thank you for coming with me tonight. I thought this would be cancelled after what happened earlier.” He said while staring at the sky.
“About Allie? You don’t have to feel jealous towards him. I’m your wife, remember?” she calmly said.
“Yeah, you’re my wife. But, don’t we have a deal?” he said.
“A deal…?“She asked curiously.
“Yeah, don’t you remember? I’ve agreed in our contract that you can file an annulment after three years of getting married.” He enlightened her.
“I remember, but is it when I finally found someone to marry for a lifetime?” she asked.
“It’s up to you. Just don’t invite me if ever.” He teasingly said.
“Selah, I just want to know. How close you were with Allie? From what I’ve seen earlier, you two must have a very special relationship.” He said.
Selah just left out a deep sigh.
“I didn’t mean to make you feel that way. I’m just so happy that he’s finally back. I’ve been waiting him for so long. But, if you’re asking about our relationship, I must say, he’s more like a brother but not more of a friend.” She shared.
“Is that all? Did he ever get the chance to court you since then?” he curiously asked.
“There was one time he confessed to me of what he felt towards me. But, I turned him down since that time, I’m not yet ready in any romantic relationship.” She said.
“How about those ten years he got separated from you? Did he ever try to win your heart again?” he continuously asking.
“Yeah, there was. Actually, it’s the night before our wedding.” She said.
“Really? What did you do? Did you tell him that you’re getting married the next day?” he asked.
“Yes, I did.” She said.
