Sure enough I turn my head and there is Andy. Except he's not alone, and he's certainly not in scrubs. He's standing there in a black T-shirt and dark wash jeans with two other men I can't remember their names, but know they are friends of his.
I go into panic mode because this is not how I expected to see him again, but as he and his friends enter the restaurant, I prepare myself for what's to come.
I see Shawn fidget next to Sofi and his eyes darken as he attempts to move his chair closer to mine. He does not look happy, but yet again, he is never happy to see Andy.
"Uh hi baby, what are you doing here?" Andy asks confused as he approaches our table with his friends.
"Funny...I could ask you the same question. You told me you were working tonight." I shoot back, narrowing my eyes at him.
"Well Marty here needed a guys night since his girl just dumped him so I got someone to cover for me." He glares at Shawn and completely avoids Sofi.
"Besides you're here with your sister and him so why does it matter?" He looks down at me with an unreadable expression, as he passes a glaring look at Shawn.
"It doesn't." I stare back up at him stating matter of factly.
"Ok then, I'm gonna go eat with the guys and I'll come pick you up later so we can talk." He says.
I'm currently somewhere between fuming and curiosity because I feel like he's lying to me. Why would he do that?! We love each other. I know I've been avoiding him, but not entirely...
Watching him walk away I hear Shawn mutter something under his breath and Sofi let's out a small laugh. I didn't hear what he said, but I'm sure it wasn't something very flattering.
I can't help but feel like a pit is forming in my stomach. Something isn't right, but I choose to ignore it because I'm here to enjoy my night with my two favorite people.
Turning my attention back to my table mates, the waitress brings our food and somewhere between mmm's and "oh my god's," the interaction with Andy goes by the way side. This food is so good.
Three equally satisfied people sitting, talking and enjoying each other's company. It's nice. I love these moments, but it makes my heart hurt because it's moments like these that Andy never wants to be a part of. He has no problem when it's his friends or just the two of us, but when I try to get him to hang out with my people....it's like pulling teeth.
"Yo, earth to Mila." I see a flash of a hand in front of my face.
Startled, I look across the table at Shawn and stick my tongue out at him. Very mature, I know.
"Thought we lost you there for a few minutes, what's on your mind Banana?"
Looking between him and Sofi I reply. "Oh it's nothing, just thinking about some stuff."
"Anyway, the food was delicious, but I'm ready to go home."
Sofi nods in agreement and Shawn pays the bill as always. I always offer to pay or at least split the bill, but he always politely declines and says "My treat."
Getting up, I turn back to Andy and his friends. A bottle of tequila sits in the middle of the table and I can already tell their all well on their way to a hangover tomorrow.
"I'll be right back."
Walking over to the table, I lightly place my hand on Andy's shoulder. He turns to look at me and a sloppy smile plasters his face.
"Heyyy ya baby girl. Are you leaving? You should stayyy, right boys? She can stay.." he slurs as his eyes can't even focus on me.
"I was just coming to say bye babe, you look like your having a lot of fun and I don't want to interrupt guys night." I turn to leave. Andy grabs my wrist and spins me back around. I land squarely on his lap and his grip tightens slightly.
He puts his nose up to my ear and nips at it before saying "I don't want you to go baby, let me sober up and I'll take you home."
"Andy I don't think that's a good idea. You're still pretty drunk and we both have a long day tomorrow." I try to free myself from his grasp, but his hand moves from my wrist to my waist. Joined by the other hand, he firmly digs his finger tips into my hips.
Releasing a low growl he spits in my ear. "You're not going anywhere baby girl. It's bad enough I see you here with Shawn, but now you don't want to come home with me? I thought you told me you were gonna be a better girlfriend?"
Damn it.
I did say that.
Deciding he's right and knowing how quickly he can sober up, I reach for my phone and text Shawn.
So sorry Canada. Andy wants me to stay with him tonight. We have some things to discuss. Please make sure Sof gets home alright. Thank you for tonight 💕
I know Shawn gets my text a few minutes later because he comes storming over and pulls me from Andy's lap and far enough away that we are out of ear shot from the boys.
I see anger flashing in his eyes, but I know it's not at me.
"This was supposed to be our night, you me and Sofi. I get that you have shit to work through with your boyfriend, but don't you think that can wait?! He did lie to you after all." His voices raises slightly.
Ok. Maybe the anger is at me.
Putting my hand on my temple, I begin to rub softly. I have a headache forming and I really don't feel like arguing right now.
"Shawn I'm sorry. He just made me an offer I couldn't refuse. He is my boyfriend after all." I somewhat lie.
"Well ok then, have a good night with fuck boy over there. I'll make sure Sofi gets home safely." He spits back at me somewhat sarcastically. Rolling his eyes, her turns on his heel in a huff and heads back towards Sofi.
"Shawn!"
"Shawn!" I say a little louder, calling after him.
I don't want him mad at me, but I also feel a responsibility to make sure Andy gets home safe.
Shawn turns and just glares at me from across the room. I can see the steam coming out of his ears. Sofi turns to me as well with a sad expression on her face and I'm half tempted to just run to them and leave, but I feel a pair of hands wrap about my waist from behind and lips drag down my neck to my weak spot.
Oh fuck.
I turn around in Andy's arms and am met with his lips on mine. He tastes like tacos and tequila, but I don't mind. I kiss him back with so much furry he starts to kiss back just as hard. I don't even care that we're basically making out in the middle of the restaurant. I'm mad at Shawn and confused at why he had his little outburst. Kissing Andy just seems like the best thing to do right now.
A loud whistle and a few "whoops" break us apart. Andy's friends are red faced and wide eyed.
"Wow guys, that was...."
"Damn Andy, you got her good man!"
Embarrassed, I wait for Andy to sit back down and take my spot back on his lap.
An hour or so later, Andy's sobered up enough I feel comfortable going home with him. We say goodbye to the guys as he puts his arm around my shoulder leading me out to his car.
"Let's go home baby girl."
