The next morning I wake up to a very familiar face and it's taking everything in me to not just reach over and kiss him. When we went to bed last night, he instantly wrapped me in his arms and it's honestly becoming my favorite place to be.
I find myself having less and less nightmares when he's around and he keeps me close to him. Although you would think having a man's arms around me after what happened to me would freak me out, for some reason I've always felt safe and protected around Shawn. I almost prefer to sleep in the same bed as him because I know he'd never hurt me, and he'll always protect me. Waking up this morning was no different. His scent making me melt into his arms that are still firmly wrapped around me.
I'm so excited for today! I have so much planned, and I can stop thinking about it as I wiggle in his arms, trying to get free. Feeling him stir beside me, I take the opportunity and slip out of his arms and quickly get up and walk into the other room to order room service. When I'm done ordering breakfast, I walk over to my suitcase and grab his birthday card and one of his presents.
After a few minutes I hear him call out for me. "Mila, where'd you go?" He asks from what I think is the bathroom, I can't tell because I'm still in the front room waiting for our food. There's a knock on the door and after checking the peep hole, I let the server in. The food smells amazing as I tell her I'll take the cart and get ready to wheel it back into the bedroom.
"Happy Birthday." I say as I walk back into the bedroom pushing the room service cart which now also contains his card and first present of the day. "I made breakfast honey" I say sarcastically because we both know I can't cook worth a darn. "Smells delicious." He smiles at me as he opens the trays. Bacon, eggs, sausage, fresh fruit and of course coffee and chocolate chip muffins cover the trays and he is beaming with delight. "Mila, you didn't have to do this."
"Of course I did, it's my best friends birthday. Plus I feel like I have to start making it up to you for everything you've done for me." I say.
"Banana, you know you don't owe me anything. I do what I do because I love you". He says. For some reason when he says the word "love," my heart skips a beat, but I like it. I believe it when he says it, even if it's not in a romantic way.
Nodding in understanding, blushing slightly, we eat in silence for a few minutes. After he finishes his first cup of coffee, he eyes the card and his first present on the corner of the cart. Reaching for them, he opens the card and I think I can see tears in his eye. I kind of poured my heart out to him in my note in the card and I think he was really touched.
Reaching for the second envelop he opens it and pulls out a picture of a log cabin. "Wow...Mila this is great." He says a little disappointed.
"Turn the photo over dumb dumb!" I tell him with a laugh.
His eyes get wide with excitement as he turns over the picture and reads. "We're going to spend the night in this?"
"Yes we are." I smile back at him.
The rest of the day zooms by and before we know it, it's time to go to the cabin. Grabbing our bags, we head there. It's secluded in the woods, but still has breathtaking views all around.
I've given him a few more presents throughout the day and he's loved them all, but I think he's going to like his last present the most of all.

Shawn's POV
Camila has been so sweet and thoughtful all day and I'm grateful because it's like she's back to the old Camila, at least somewhat. She's thought of anything and everything.
