A I S L I N G
[pro. Ice-ling]-Some Irish names have super weird spellings/pronunciations (you will see some of this later in the book if you continue to read) I will include the pronunciation if it's even a little weird :) Happy reading!
I stop to check my look in the mirror, dressed in a black pants suit with a white knit tank tucked in.
I smile to myself.
Ever since I moved out, I've become a whole new person. I've been happier, more active, and my style has improved so much. It's not so much that I didn't have style, I've just been stuck in this funk for years of wearing sweatpants, leggings, and hoodies.
I take another second, purely enjoying the contentment I found in myself lately.
I glance over to the clock on my nightstand. 7:48.
Right on time.
I pick up my purse and throw it over my shoulder, locking my door before leaving.
As I arrive at the office, I walk straight in to the spacious lobby. Straight away I notice my boss, Greg, standing in the front lobby. That's weird. Usually he'd be in his office already.
Greg falls a little short at 5'8, his light brown hair is always styled back greasily.
Greg isn't the worst boss, but he's never too involved in things around the office.
He instantly grasps my attention as he shuffles over with the infuriated look radiating his face the second he spots me walk in.
Oh great. He's in a bad mood today.
But why does he look mad at me? I shoot him a smile, It didn't seem to be well received.
"Hey Greg, good mo-" I start to say, hoping to lighten his mood a little, before he cuts me off.
"Aisling! Follow me. Now."He says with a stern voice, fury ringing in his tone. Oh boy.
I instantly widen my eyes with confusion but follow him down the hall.
He leads me down the hall to his second office, which he never lets anyone enter, and walks through the doors swiftly after unlocking multiple locks.
As I enter cautiously, my eyes raked the room, noticing it looks almost identical to his other one. Same desk, chair, everything.
I examine the situation and glance over to see an obvious display of indignation upon his face.
He sits on the edge of the desk and throws me another look of pure anger before turning over the computer screen.
It's the surveillance footage for this office. I stand still, completely shocked and extremely confused.
My brows furrow together and my eyes narrow down on a man as I start to observe the clip.
A hooded man, purposely hiding his face from the camera, uses one of the key cards to enter.
He seems to know exactly what he's doing.
Without looking around or searching, he walks straight to the bottom drawer of the file cabinet, he digs around and pulls out a silver briefcase. What is that? I've never even seen it before.
He walks out holding the silver briefcase in one hand with his bag slung over his other arm. The video stops.
"So who is he?" Greg stuns me with this question. I knit my brows together in confusion as I tried to make sense of this.
