"I'm going alone."
"Like hell you are." Dante snaps at me.
"They said come alone, so I will. He needs me." I huff.
"Aisling he would never want you to do this. Your safety means more than anything to him, you gotta believe that."
"Well, ditto. Also, I'm not some weak sheltered girl, I've been heavily trained concerning the art of the attack. I'll be armed, and trust me, I can get myself out of sticky situations. Escaped Alessio didn't I?" His mouth forms a thin straight line, clearly not liking it. "You should stay here and pretend everything is normal. I don't know if people are watching."
"You don't trust Aaliyah?"
"I don't trust Josephine." He nods in understanding.
"I promise, I'll get him out Dante. I can't lose him either."
"I know you have a plan, so tell me." He sighs and the slightest of smirks draws on my lips.
Of course I do.

A L E S S I O
I wake up with my head pounding, the last thing I remember being our car run off an overpass, and then vaguely, fighting off guys waiting below as they pulled us out of the car. They stuck needles in us, Gio and I, I'm pretty sure David has been dead since the crash, though I'm not exactly sure why they brought his body here. I'm tied up and gagged, as is Gio.
The thing is, I still haven't got a clue as to who they are. This bland abandoned room has been empty except for the three of us since I woke up, no windows and one dim light overhead. For some reason, Gio hasn't woken up yet, but I checked and he still has a pulse, the drug must've delayed for him.
I hear movement behind the metal door and straighten myself as much as I can while tied up.
I narrow my eyes at the man who walks in, I should have fucking guessed, Alexsei Sorokin.
"Well, well, well." He chuckles deeply. "I'd never thought I'd see the day." He smiles brightly.
I finally get my tongue to push out the nasty gag.
"What the fuck do you want Alexsei? And you really think this is the way of getting it?" I laugh, despite my current situation.
"Oh, but that's where you're wrong. This will get me exactly what I want." His lips pull up into a evil smirk.
"Yeah, and what's that?" I spit out.
"Finally, I can get my revenge on Mikhail's killer." He admits giddily.
"Christ, your still on that old man? I've told you a thousand times I had nothing to do with that. I was a twelve year old at the time." I've been through so many of these accusations from him over the years after Michail'
"Oh, age really does mean nothing as to what we have to do in this world. Plus, I wasn't talking about you, I've known you didn't do it for a while now." He notices my wheels turning but not being able to connect the dots. "Ah, I see, you don't know her secrets." Her?
"Whose secrets?" I jolt against the bindings.
"So crazy to imagine, a ten year old girl slicing up his throat like that. You'd never suspect it was done by such a little girl." He goes on. Ten? Aisling is two years younger then me...fuck. "You know now, who I'm speaking of, hmm? Your precious little girlfriend. I wonder, was she the one with you out at that house?" I stay silent and he just bellows a deep laugh. "I'm only kidding, I know it was her there."
"What do you want with her?" I sneer.
"She's coming alone, to save you, how precious is that? Walking right into the lion's den in the name of love. Aisling will be forced to watch you and your right hand tortured and killed. Then I will be free to take her back to my compound for her specially planned suffering." There's no way Aisling will fall for this, she's much smarter than people give her credit for. I hope to god she doesn't come here alone.
"Derry will come after you." Is my only remark.
"Oh please, you know as well as I do that she's just about dead to him, it doesn't take much with Derry. He's been hunting her. You see, I've known it was her for long but I've been waiting for my perfect moment to strike. That moment is now." He grins, he's putting too much risk on a father not coming to defense for his daughter. Though we are all well aware of how Derry is.
"You know what they say, before embarking on a journey of revenge dig two graves." I grit out.
"I'm afraid your nonsensical logic is flawed in this situation. I'm not the only one digging a grave for that woman." He sneers. What the fuck does that mean? There are others out there plotting against her? I wonder, how much she has really kept from me?
Something I'm no longer questioning is her, and my standing in this situation, no matter what.
I'll be by her side.
