A I S L I N G
"Get out" Alessio's voice rings flatly through the air. I flinch at his abrupt change in mood.
I look up to see him glaring at me with something dark, and sinister, swimming around in his blue-green orbs.
I held his gaze for a moment longer, and that was when I saw it. His eyes were brimming with a look that I abruptly recognized.
I suddenly knew why he was doing this and I understood it all too well.
I got up and walked to the door wordlessly, I turned at the door and shot him a dark glare. "Stay away from me." I snarled at him. I only came here for answers, I didn't get many but hopefully he'll stop following me.
I certainly have made it clear through all of our encounters that I can protect myself, even from him. I don't need his help.

When I get back inside the house I immediately rush up to my brother's room. I knew he was here because I notice his Mercedes in the driveway.
I burst through the doors "Aedan!" I yelled as I ran and pulled him into a suffocating hug.
His features lit up and his lips tugged up into a grin. "Hey Ais. How you been?" He asked, looking down at me.
"Always in trouble, you know me. It's not my fault this time though." I chuckle. I can't help but laugh at the situation I'm in. He tilts his head, his expression turning perplexed. I sigh. "One of dad's men, Greg. hired someone to kill me. He didn't know who I really was though but that doesn't matter to dad. I saw him stab Greg early this morning, I'm pretty sure he's dead." Aedan's eyes widened and I saw a tinge of anger he had for dad letting me see that.
I rolled my eyes. "I'm not some innocent puppy Aedan. I know many of the bad things dad's done and the many bad things you've done. Just because I'm girl it doesn't mean I'm any different from you. I can handle the truth. I can protect myself better if I know what's going on in this family." I uttered.
"Okay. Okay. Look, I'm not trying to control you like dad. I'm just upset you had to see it but you're right." He gave me an apologetic side hug.
I looked up at him intensely before asking my next question. "What do you know about Alessio De Luca?" I asked cautiously.
His eyes widened in surprise. "Not much. He and I were never close. He's trying to gain an alliance with dad." My eyes almost popped out of their sockets. My face bewildered along with my thoughts. This is bad. "Do you remember when we used to play with him and his brother as kids?" Aedan added.
This time I was sure my eyes popped out. Did I hear that right? I shook my head.
"I didn't know that." I murmured quietly as my thoughts ate me up on the inside.
"Why are you asking?" I struggled to come up with an answer, even for myself. Why do I want to know about Alessio?
"Uh, one of my friends from the city went on a date with him." I stated quickly.
"Well tell her to tread lightly. I do know that man is a womanizer. He's broken many hearts." He added. I nodded. I know Josephine won't be seeing Alessio again.
She said he wasn't even her type, that he was cute and all but she was looking for boyfriend material.
That's definitely not Alessio.
"By the way, I think I heard dad mention something about business associates joining us for dinner tonight around 6." Aedan informed. Dad only ever invited people he trusted here and I knew most of who came around.
