Chapter 13

(Mikasa's POV)

I looked at Edward as he collapsed next to me. I was shocked. He saved me when I was about to die, risking he own life to do so. But why did he save the person that tried to beat him up?

I snapped out of my disbelief and caught him before he could hit the ground and put his head on my lap. His eyes were closed and his skin and clothes were charred.

"Ed!!" I heard Winry shout behind me.

The others surrounded Edwards unconscious body, worried expressions on their faces, except for captain shitface who was as flat faced as usual. I was about to punch him but I saw a glimmer of guilt in his stormy grey eyes.

What's that all about?

My anger calmed down and my nervousness and worry came back, I looked at the blond boy, and put a hand on his forehead. He was burning up fast.

"He's heating up." I said turning my head to face Eren.

"We have to get him to the infirmary now." said Erwin.

"No that's a bad idea. If the medics see Ed's metal limbs, nobody can stop them from spreading the rumor." interjected Eren. "We should take him to our room, and we should get Hange, she could help."

"Good idea brat." replied the Captain, carefully picking Edward.

Me, Eren and Armin, cleared a path for the Corporal who was carrying the alchemist like he weighed nothing. Once we got to their room, he put him on the bed gently and Erwin went to get Hange. I soaked a cloth and put it on his forehead, dabbing the sweat away. He was clearly in pain, even unconscious it was easy to see.

Shit... it's my fault.

"I'm sorry..." I apologizsd.

The others looked at me, eyes wide. Winry grabbed me by the shoulders and hugged me.

"Hey... it's not your fault. Ed was just being himself, reckless, self sacrificial, there was nothing you could have done about that." she said chuckling through her tears.

"If anything, I'm the one to blame, brat." admitted Corporal Levi. "I was the one who kicked Eren, I wanted to see if he could beat you, thus proving that we needed to modify our training program."

"You did WHAT?" I growled, gently pulling away from Winry.

"Whao! Whao! Mikasa, it's fine." reassured Eren, putting his hands on my shoulders. "He didn't kick me at full strength and he knew that I would just regenerate, so really. It's okay."

My expression softened, I really couldn't refuse anything that Eren tells me. I just nodded, then looked at the unconscious blond again.

"I just wish I could thank him right now, come back to us soon cutie. Okay?" I said.

We all left the room except for the higher ups and Eren who were going to explain the situation to Hange who was just coming in with Erwin.

(Hange's POV)

I ran through the hallways with Erwin who just explained briefly what happened between Edward and Mikasa. Even though I didn't see what happened, I could tell that Erwin was worried as hell.
When we made it to Eren and Edward's room, Mikasa, Winry and Armin left the room. I walked next to the alchemist and took his wrist. His pulse was weak but steady. I put my ear next to his face, he was breathing fine but his forehead was burning hot.

"There is no serious damage, just a broken automail. He managed to resist the internal bleeding exchange but this resulted in a self induced coma and a bad fever which is still better than the bleeding, but the problem is I have no way of knowing when he will wake up. So for now, we should just try to get rid of the fever." I diagnosed getting up.

Suddenly somebody knocked at the door, Mikasa's face popped through the crack.

"A man requested to see Commander Erwin, he says his name is Thomas and that he has something important to say. He's just outside." she said.

"Very well. I will see to this." he said straightening his uniform then following the cadet, closing the door behind him.

The remaining three of us, sat down on Eren's bed and looked at the unconscious boy.

"So, Erwin didn't really tell me what happened, can one of you two tell me?" I asked, curious.

Eren who was sitting between me and Levi, explained the training and how Levi wanted to test Edward's strength against Mikasa, to see if his training program was more efficient than ours. He also told me about how Levi framed Edward for kicking Eren. Then the fight between the alchemist and Mikasa, and his victory over the 104th Cadet trainees' strongest.

"So you beat up my titan baby, just to see if the program had to be changed?" I exclaimed, really upset.

"No Miss Hange. It's fine! I think he meant well..." Eren said.

He's so cute when he's defending the captain. It's always a good show!

Then I had a devilish idea. 

"Awwwwww!! Defending your squad leader! That's so cute of you, my little titan baby." I screeched, hugging him firmly

I could tell that Eren was very uncomfortable right now. 

"Oi! Shitty glasses! Now's far from the time for you insane_" he started.

But he was interrupted by the bedroom door flying open. I quickly let go of Eren's head. The guy breathed heavily and I just realized that I must have been suffocating him.

Oops.

We looked at the doorway, to see Erwin at the door, out of breath like he just ran a marathon.

"Hey! What happened?" I asked cheerfully.

"We have a problem. And we might need Fullmetal's help, and Eren's." he said, a worried frown on his face.

"Spill the beans. What is it?" said Levi flatly.

"The titans have breached Wall Rose."
