Chapter 15

time skip (on Wall Rose after Utgard castle incident)

sorry for the brutal time skip, I just have no idea how to continue from that last chapter. So here we are...

(Eren's POV)

We had just gotten back to Wall Rose, caught up with the others who explained what happened at Utgard Castle, how Ymir was a titan shifter, the battle, the deaths and how they didn't find a single breach in the wall. We had already put the injured on the wall and those who were alright mentally and physically were either helping the hurt or talking to Hange, the only superior around.

I stood on top of the wall with Ed as we watched the stretcher lift unconscious Ymir on the wall. She had several missing limbs but her titan regeneration power wa active and was already reforming them.

"That's crazy huh?" started Ed.

"What is?"

"That Ymir is a titan shifter, I never would have expected that..." he said.

"Yeah well this whole world is fucked up, guess we won't know normal until these damn titans are annihilated." I answered.

We looked at the distance, the wind ruffling our hair and clothes. Then Reiner and Bertholdt approached us from behind. We turned around and faced them.

"How's the arm Reiner?" asked the alchemist.

"Better. But we have something to tell you, Eren." he replied.

We looked at each other, and I was a bit curious so I followed him as they walked away from the others, Ed went to talk with Mikasa and Armin.

"I'm the Armored titan, and Bertholdt is the Colossal titan. And we came to ask you if you wanted to run away from the walls with us." admitted Reiner.

What?

"You're just tired, aren't you?" I mumbled putting a hand on Reiner's shoulder. "Right Bertholdt. You've been through so much it's making you crazy."

"Uh yeah... Reiner is just very tired." replied Bertholdt nervously and sweating.

"Besides, if you really were the Armored Titan that wants to destroy humanity why would you be asking me this now?" I continued relieved by Bertholdt's answer. "What did you think would happen? That I'd nod and say: 'sure let's go' ?" I continued.

I looked up at the taller boys, Reiner looked pretty shocked by my answer and Bertholdt was looking at his friend nervously, like he was about to blow a fuse.
The wind began to blow and I heard the others walk away, but I couldn't hear the footsteps of Ed which was pretty weird.

"I see..." Reiner mumbled, a stunned expression on his darkened face. "That's right... What the hell was I thinking? Have I really gone crazy?"

"Come on. Let's go!" I said walking past them to join the others.

Suddenly the wind blew even harder and the flagpole fell off the edge causing a huge ominous echo to reverberate through the quiet wall. Sasha, Armin, Hange and Moblit stopped walking away and looked at us and the broken flag, an uneasy vibe falling on all of us.

"I see... That's right..." repeated Reiner. "I've been here too long for my own good. It's been three long years, we were just kids, we didn't know anything. If only I'd known that there were other people like this... I... wouldn't have become... suck a half ass piece of shit!" he finished, the anger rising in his voice.

What...

"It's too late now... I don't know what's right anymore." he declared unraveling the bandage. "The only choice for me now is to face the consequences of my actions."
