Chapter 21

(Levi's POV)

Shit! Shit! SHIT!

Kenny was here, he killed both of Hange's soldiers, and now he and his MP murdering buddies were hot on my heels. I shot my grappling hooks from building to building, flying from streets to street doing my best to avoid a bullet going through me head like that girl Nifa. But it was hard, I was in a bad position, they had the high ground and I couldn't get close enough to them to cut them down with those long range 3DMG.

Give me a break. I'm getting closer and closer to the wall, soon they'll corner me completely and I'll be dead in seconds

Where the hell is Edward?

hours before

We had arrived at the front gate of the Stohess district, waiting for Hange's squad members to get here. We had skipped breakfast, came here as fast as we could and we had just finished hiding the horses. We were all in capes, hoods up to hide our faces, hiding our gear under them but we decided to exclude the uniforms. Edward was wearing civilian clothes, he was in a black shirt, grey pants and a light brown trench coat, with dark gloves to hide his metal arm.

"Okay, the plan is simple, they'll try to pick us one at the time and kill us quickly, so make sure that you spread out, groups of two and stick with your pairs. Edward, you'll be a pincher, if you see a group in trouble, give them a signal, anything you want but make it discreet and help that group in a way that doesn't draw any attention to you."

He nodded, in agreement and he went inside the walled city first. Then the rest of us waited a bit longer for the last two, we didn't want them knowing about Edward, so we debriefed the plan to them when they arrived, but we left out the backup soldier that was already inside.

back to the present

I slid under an archway that served as temporary cover from the bullets, but I was running out of placed to run. I looked left and right, I was only a couple blocks from the wall and would be stuck very soon. But that's when I noticed a man hiding in the shadows on an alleyway, he had his collar pulled up that was hiding most of his face, but I recognised the gold eyes that were just above the coat. He waved his left hand and I saw that he had a piece of paper in his hands, he shot a glance at me and I knew what to do. I dived down, grabbed the paper from his hand before Kenny's men could see it, then flew away. The note said:
Go to that tevern down the street.

I threw the note away, without slowing down, bullets flying everywhere, one grazed my head and I felt the blood trickle down my face. Then I kicked down the tavern door and landed on the counter, I looked around me, but didn't see Edward anyone, and the people of the tavern were looking at me weird, the bartender was nervously talking to me but I wasn't paying much attention.

"Get down!" hissed a voice behind me.

I felt a hand grip on my arm and pull me behind the bar, I looked at the man and saw Edward, how did he get there so quickly, I don't know.

"It's Kenny the Ripper, MP killer. He will be hard to kill, he's like me but with bullets." I explained quietly, as I wiped the blood off my face.

"Don't worry I, have just the plan, something I came up with, think you get him to come inside?" he asked.

I looked at him confused, but he had that mischievous look on his face, almost devilish I nodded. Then Kenny started yelling some garbage from outside, so I started answering to Kenny's rants, bringing him in the tavern, closer and closer, until he was standing just a couple meters from where we were. I saw the alchemist bring his hands together quietly, then, the second Kenny took another step forward, he put them on the ground and Kenny yelled in surprise.
