The crowd was less active now the tempo of the music had changed. They all started to sway to Austin's methodical voice. My anxiety started to settle even if he has just practically said I've broke his heart. I managed to change my lens over quickly and snap a few pictures, I was determined to get a good photo now Austin was being so petty. The lighting was good and this angle was interesting and raw. I knew I was going to get in trouble so I might aswell try and make the most out of a bad situation.
Id got a few decent pictures so I decided to brave it and try get out of the pit. I took a deep breath in to calm my nerves and did what I've had to do at previous punk/rock shows we've worked, I ducked and maneuvered my self through people's legs. I was small enough that I could easily slip past people and most wasn't bothered about someone trying to get out of the crowd. I had to kick my way through a sea of plastic cups and lost property but I eventually reached the barrier closest to the sound stage. I shouted as loud as I could over the music and waved at the same security guard from earlier. He spotted me and with a disappointed look he lifted me over the barrier shaking his head. I must have looked rumpled and slightly trodden on but I was in one piece. No thanks to Austin.
I took out the broken lens to inspect it. It was definitely completely busted and there would be no way to repair it. I would definitely have to replace it, I made a mental note to look after the show. Adams battered DC pumps came into view in front of me. I gingerly lifted my head knowing that he must have heard about my near death experience in the pit. I plastered a fake smile on my face and slowly raised my head to meet his stare.
"Hey boss man" I said cheerily. He eyed my crumpled appearance and his steely gaze locked with mine as I gave him a weak smile.
He snatches the crushed lens out of my hand "Rey, what the hell do you think your doing?! Not only did you ruin a lens but you've pissed Austin off even further. You also could have damaged the camera!" He pulls the camera from around my neck as he inspects it. I look up at the security guard who just shakes his head at me and looks off into the distance not wanting to get involved in our domestic.
I straighten out my clothes and smooth out my ruffled hair as I wait nervously. I nibble at my lip as I stand watching Adam inspect the camera. He starts to look through the pictures I'd managed to take flaring his nostrils in anger. I watch his face knowing that he's eventually going to look up and shout at me for doing something stupid and risking everything for nothing. His expression suddenly changes as he looks at a picture. His features soften up as he intently looks at the shots I've taken. Moving the camera around to see it at better angles.
"This shot is good, like really good" he squints his eyes as he looks up close. I grab the camera off him excited.
I spin round to get better lighting to view the picture "Omg, it is good" I look up at him with my eyes wide in amazement.

He chuckles at me my expression "Don't be so shocked, you have talent. Even though your brain doesn't work. What was you thinking going in the crowd like that?"
