I decided on a dress for thanks giving. Nothing too fancy but something I didn't have to worry about if I ate too much pie. I pulled on a tan turtle neck oversized cable knit dress with some black over the knee boots. At 11.55 I heard a truck pull up on the front and I knew Austin was on his best behaviour, I can tell because he's never on time or early. I made my way downstairs grabbing my bag off the kitchen counter.
"Austin here mom I'm going to friends giving" I kissed my mom's cheek
"Have a good time honey. Try and not argue with Austin" she shot me a knowing look.
"I'll try but I'm not promising anything mom. By the way all this smells wonderful, I can't wait to stuff my face later" I popped a bit of stuffing in my mouth.
She reaches over and smacks my hand away "Behave today Regan. He's trying to make it up to you" I just huff and wave her off
"See you later" I strut myself down the driveway to Austins dad's truck. I can't tell if it's just Austin in there due to the dark windows. Austin appears to open my door, his jaw practically hits the floor. He's not used to grown up Regan. Grown up Regan doesn't just wear sweats and jeans with hoodies anymore. She wears dresses, sexy underwear and heels.
"You look great Regan" he stutters
"Thank you Austin, you don't look too bad yourself. However you made a rookie mistake. Jeans on thanksgiving is a no go" I jump up into the cab with Austins help. He smirks as he closes the door. He slides into the drivers seat and lights a cigarette. I watch him as he drives, he's wearing cowboy boots with black jeans, black shirt and a leather jacket. He looked good, really good. I made myself look away. I didn't need these feelings getting in the way. If we where to get back to some kind of normalcy or at least stop arguing, I couldn't start developing feelings for him again. That would just take us backwards.
We pulled up in front of the hotel and Austin jumped out quick to help me out before handing the keys to the vallet. A very excited shift manager with perky boobs, that where peeking from behind her unbuttoned shirt came bounding up to us like a retriever. She directed us to the large ballroom that had been decked out for friendsgiving. As soon as I walked in I saw a slightly perkier Adam, his face was still pale but he was up. I threw my arms around his clammy body and squeezed.
"Hi Regan. Thank you for taking care of me yesterday. And for covering the show" he sounded more like himself.
"You are very welcome boss man, it was a pleasure" I smile up at him.
"So you arrived with Austin?"Adam said sarcastically, I'm assuming not knowing what happened after the show. Smitty and Bobby decide to join in the conversation.
"It's not like that. He practically blackmailed me" I roll my eyes
"Did he also black mail you into wearing cute matching outfits?" Smitty laughs
"We are not-" I spin round and realise they are in the same colour pallette "they are not matching"
"You don't sound too confident on that one" Smitty smirks. I punch him in the arm.
"Just because we are wearing tan and black? Loads of people wear these colours" I huffed
"So what are you doing after here?" he asked
"Having thanksgiving lunch with my mum" I smile awkwardly
"And... At whose house?" Austin must have told him
"Fine, at Rich and Jodies" I sulked
"All dressed up..."Adam laughs
"I am not all dressed up" I fold my arms angrily
