Sunlight poured in through my windows and, with my eyes still tightly shut, I let out
a quiet groan, feeling my neck ache from the awkward position I had managed to
fall asleep in.I couldn't help but feel something hard under my cheek as I continued to rest my
head, and I wondered when my pillow became so uncomfortable. My eyes slowly fluttered open a moment later. My eyes struggled to adjust to the sunlight but when they finally did, I let out a yelp of panic, the sight of my laptop keyboard greeting me.My head snapped up from the uncomfortable position, various photos still waiting to be edited on my computer screen. I threw my head back in annoyance, scolding myself for falling asleep at the table in the middle of work.
I quickly pulled my hair up into a ponytail and tried to figure out where I left off. I rubbed my eyes as I rifled through the open windows on my screen. I had managed to finish four out of ten photos and with only two hours left until I needed to be at the meeting, I hoped time would be on my side for once.I quickly sent Adam over the photos I had finished editing, leaving out that I had fallen asleep in the middle of the others, and quickly got back to work.I don't think I've ever edited so quickly before in my life, and after an hour and a half, the photos were done. Sure, they weren't my best, but I hoped the four that I worked hard on would make up for it.In the middle of me getting dressed, there was a quiet knock at my door. I narrowed my eyes slightly and yelled out, "One second!" to whoever was waiting on the other side.

I pulled my jeans up and quickly buttoned and zipped them, before making my way
to the door. I glanced through the peep-hole, not sure who to expect when a
delivery man stood waiting patiently outside for me.I opened the door and greeted him with a warm smile."Ms. Foster?" He asked, glancing down at his phone.

I nodded, "That's me."He smiled and reached to the side, pulling out a large box that I hadn't noticed with a small bag set on top of it. He handed me his phone to sign as we exchanged
small talk.I narrowed my eyes at the large box in front of me, struggling to remember what I
had ordered that would be this large. Maybe Adam ordered something and forgot to tell me. The small bag on top piqued my interest too, again unsure of what I ordered.

I handed the delivery man his phone back and he waved me off, "Enjoy!" He said sweetly before retreating down the hall. I struggled to pull the large box and bag into my apartment, which only made me more curious as to what it could possibly be.I decided to open the box first, retreating to the kitchen to grab a large knife. I returned to the box and sliced it open, only to find tissue paper covering the contents. I groaned quietly as I removed the packaging, only to be met with a suitcase that probably cost more than my entire life. My eyes widened slightly as I pulled the bag out of the box, letting out a quiet sigh of surprise as I took it in. My fingers trailed over the Saint Laurent logo, which only made me fall more in love with it. I couldn't help but chuckle at myself, finding it amusing that I could be so in awe of a suitcase. I narrowed my eyes slightly at the note at the bottom of the box and slowly picked it up to read.

A little birdie told me you could use this

I couldn't help the smile creeping onto my face and had to remind myself that just
because he spent his money on me doesn't mean that he's out of the dog house
and all is forgiven.I was too busy lost in the suitcase that I forgot about the small bag that
accompanied the box and quickly reached over to open that next.I fumbled with the bag and once it was finally open, I reached in and pulled out a large can of Red Bull. I quickly cracked it open and took a large swig, thankful for just a moment Austin and I had reconnected.I reached for my phone to text him a quick note of thanks when I stopped myself, the realization that I no longer had his phone number hit me like a ton of bricks. I used to have his number memorized, my fingers trained to dial his at a moment's notice, and now I couldn't even text him to thank him. I sighed and hung my head briefly, wondering if the grudge I held on to for so long was worth losing the most important person in my life. In the middle of my pity party, my phone rang from my hands, snapping me out of my thoughts.
