This year, everything could change--
I'm not going to wallow in self-pity,
I'm not going to live in the past,
I'm not going to hope he still loves me,
I'm going to learn to love myself.
I'm going to learn to be confident in who I am,
I'm going to believe that I am valued and important.
Nobody can change my life for me,
and opportunities aren't going to come looking for me.
I've got to go and find my own adventures once I graduate--
whether it be in a new place,
a new school,
across the United States,
across the world,
or in the same old town I've lived in my entire life.
This year, everything will change.
