Time has stopped.
No. Everything has stopped.
Unable to move any part of my body, I take in my rugged ex-boyfriend laying nonchalantly across my small double bed. His brown eyes glare at me flatly, the menacing smile that plays from the corner of his lips putting me on edge.
What the hell is he doing here?
Grabbing the side of my desk, the water bottle tumbling to the floor, I take a breath. My eyes drag up and down my ex-boyfriend's body over and over.
He wears a too tight black t-shirt, jeans that are ripped at the knees, and his feet are almost falling from the end of the small bed.Nothing about this situation is good. Not one bit.
And I don't know how to deal with this."Hello, Mia," Tommy says calmly, his strong arm rested behind his head.
"Tommy?" I splutter, my mouth dry. "How did you find me here?" I ended things with Tommy nearly two months ago, I knew he struggled with it, but turning up in my bedroom is too far.
Isn't it?
"It's been a while, Mia!" Tommy says all too happily, pulling himself from my tiny bed, edging closer to me and my motionless body. "Oh, I have my resources."
I roll my eyes; Lucas had to have told him.
A faint hint of nicotine emits from his breath, his face getting too close to mine. Simultaneously, I gulp, peering at the many tattoos that line his arms, stretching with each flex of muscle.
Five or six months ago, I'd have said that I loved this man. But now, I don't feel a thing. And truthfully, I'm not sure if I even loved him in the first place.
"Why haven't you reached out to me Mia?" Tommy asks, his hand rested against the closed door behind me, keeping me contained behind his large body. With the other, he runs his fingers through my hair. "I've missed you."
I flinch when his fingers move to my cheek, tucking a stray hair behind my ear. But when his eyes study the almighty bruise, then the clothes that I'm wearing, his eyebrows pull together. And his forehead creases.
"Fuck, Mia, you've really been getting yourself into some shit here haven't you?" Studying the swollen area, his moves his hand upward, drawing circles with the pad of his thumb.
But I don't like it. I don't like it all. Squinting my eyes together, I imagine that it's Grayson's hand on me instead. Only his touch has the ability to send me off into a spiral of ecstasy.
When my eyes open again, Tommy is studying the hoodie.
"Who's is this?" He asks, his lips parted and eyebrows pressed together. Moving his hand to the large, grey hoodie, he grasps the fabric, slowly realising that this would never be something I would buy for myself. "Mia, tell me who's this is?"
