The rest of the weekend I spent studying my course notes, drinking tea, and not leaving the house for anything other than grocery shopping.

After all the recent and crazy events of my life, I decided to just do something normal. Of course Hailey lectured me about my irresponsible actions on Friday night, telling me off for making her so worried. But she's right—I shouldn't have acted to stupid. So out of character.

Blowing a breath, I struggle to comprehend how Grayson has this much of a pull on me. He makes me act differently. And whilst that should scare me, it also thrills me.

Disappointingly, Grayson has only messaged me a couple of times since I last saw him. A simple 'Hey' and 'How are you?'. But nothing more thrilling than that. I really don't know what to think of our so called relationship—if that's what I can even call it.

Thankfully, Tommy has disappeared from my radar, and Hailey hasn't suspected a thing about his actions that evening, which I'm thankful for; I don't want her to worry about him. I think she knew something was up, but, knowing Tommy like we do, I think she assumed that he was just trying to wiggle his way back into my life.

Well, he kind of was.

By Wednesday, I feel my life has somewhat gone back to normal.

At the presence of a sunny day, Danny takes us to a nearby pub during our lunch break, leading us to a hidden beer garden round the back and smiling when we are able to sit at a table near a small pond.

I take a seat next to Danny, with Rachel, Scott and Sophie taking a seat opposite.

"What's everyone having?" Rachel chirps, her eyes flicking up and down a drinks menu.

"Oh," I say. "Just an orange juice for me."

Looking up, Rachel and Scott burst with laughter, Danny and Sophie following.

"Mia," Rachel giggles. "We're not at school. You can have an alcoholic drink."

I smirk, but my cheeks blush. Contrary to my first night here, I'm not actually a big alcohol drinker. But if everyone else is, then I will too.

"A fruit cider then please," I say, smiling.

When the round is ordered, the team engage in conversation about upcoming projects. With little experience and exposure to the world of Saint and City marketing so far, I decide to do more listening than talking.

But the break is nice. The fact that I can focus my mind on work as well as enjoying a social gathering, rather than allowing my mind to wander with thoughts of Grayson, is somewhat refreshing.

Sipping the last of my fruit cider, I take in the aesthetic view around me. Sitting in this beer garden briefly allows me to forget that I'm living in a big city. Large, hanging trees border the space, and the bright green of the grass reminds me more of the countryside.
