My eyes open without struggle, the golden, morning sunlight spilling against mine and Grayson's bare bodies that lay peacefully on the bed.

With a smile, I look to my boyfriend. I look to the troubled man and think how much I love him, despite everything I found out about him recently.

Sucking a breath, I mould myself to Grayson. Next to me he stirs, groaning when he says, "Morning baby." He pushes his soft lips to my cheek, shivers shooting all the way down my body.

Moving my hand to his jaw, I say, "Morning Grayson."

His lips move to mine now, and he drags in a taste of me before his hands cup my head. "I want to lie here all day with you darlin'," he coos. "Really, I do. But I have work, and so do you."

My lower lip worries, and then I exhale. "You're right."

With a final kiss, Grayson moves from the bed and shoves his clothes on. As I dress alongside him, I can't help but wonder what kind of 'work' he has going on today. But then I stop myself, because we both promised not to speak of it.

"I'll drop you at work," Grayson says, snapping on his watch. "You ready?"

My head bounces, deflation battling inside of my body. "Yeah."

I go to walk out my room, but Grayson grabs my wrist, pulling me to his hard, warm body. "Not so fast."

I cock my eyebrow, watching as Grayson moves himself to my dresser and picks something up. When he's back at my side, I gasp at the sight of the necklace box in his hand.

The necklace that he bought me.

My cheeks flush, because I haven't worn it yet. But Grayson knows why, and he isn't disappointed.

With a smile, he takes the necklace from the box and delicately places it around my neck, the cold silver making my skin tingle. "Beautiful," he says, kissing my neck from behind.

In the mirror, I can't help but smile. I had been putting off wearing this necklace because of everything I found out about Grayson, but, now that I have it on, I can't help but admire how beautiful it looks.

"Thank you," I murmur, my fingers touching the heart-shaped charm. "I love it."

With a smile, Grayson leans his head onto mine. "Come on baby. Let's go."

My breath hitches. "Okay."

In the car, I'm grateful for the heat because my body seems to be cold with worry at the moment; worry about leaving Grayson; worry about everything I've found out and worry about what the future holds for us now. I know that we've agreed to work on it, but a small part of me now holds doubts.

As if reading my thoughts, Grayson scoops my hands into his and pulls me to him. "Baby. I promise this is going to work. Please, please, don't give up on us. I love you, okay?"
