"Yo," Gray said, as E walked into the kitchen. "Want?" E looked at the pancakes Gray was flipping and nodded.

"Yeah, thanks."

"You sleep okay?" Gray asked with a grin. E ignored him. "Come on, man, I warned you."

"Shut up."

"Someone's salty," Gray said with a chuckle. E stabbed at his pancake.

"Did you even make sure she got home safe?" E asked. Gray turned, eyebrows raised.

"I don't know- she was gone when I woke up." Ethan rolled his eyes. "Jesus- she probably drove home, it's fi-"

"You drove her here, Grayson." Gray thought back for a moment.

"Oh shit." Ethan shook his head. "Probably should've called her an uber or something- I crashed right af-"

"I drove her home." Gray turned.

"Yeah?" E nodded.

"Uh, thank you?" Ethan stared at the back of his head while he fixed another pancake. "Jheez, bro why are you so-"

"I liked her." Gray turned.

"What?"

"I liked her- she was the girl I was supposed ot ask out as soon as I got back from Jersey." Gray's eyes widened a little.

"Fuck- how'd you know her?"

"That's the coffee shop I went to all of the week prior, to work and shit." Gray chuckled.

"Looks like you weren't actually working, huh?" E didn't say anything. "Shit, that's why you're so bothered by it- it's just a girl, dude."

"Yeah, well, I fucking liked her, Gray, I was gonna ask her out and actually date her." Gray rolled his eyes.

"There are other girls, Ethan, I just got to her first." E didn't say anything, he just dropped his plate into the sink. "Fucking wash that, bro."

"You fucking do it-"

"Why do you want my sloppy seconds so bad, br-" E shoved Gray back into the stove. Gray gasped and shoved him back, turning back to tend to his food.

"Fuck off, Gray."

E tried to forget about you, he really did. And he was doing just so, not thinking of you at all, just making himself some stir fry for lunch when the doorbell rang a couple of days later.

Thinking it was just the package he'd ordered, he went to get it, brushing his hands off on his sweats, but opening the door, it was you. "Oh."

"Hey, Ethan," you said with a smile. He nodded. "Is Gray home?" Something fell within Ethan and he stepped aside.

"Uh, no, he's out." You played with your hands. "Does he know you're here?"

"No- I don't have his number, we kind of just- yeah, no I came because-" you stopped rambling to breathe. "I left my keys to the store somewhere and I can't remember where and I have opening shift tom-"

"Did you wanna check his room?" You nodded. "Yeah, go ahead."

You thanked him and he shook his head, closing the door behind you. You headed up, remembering how and walked into Gray's room. You heard him head back to the kitchen and you had to admit, whatever he was making smelled delicious.

You looked around Gray's room, trying to think of where it might've fallen. But no keys in sight. You tried his bathroom too, thinking it may've dropped while you'd used it before leaving. But nothing.
