(gray's pov)

"We were supposed to get married," I heard someone yell. Turning around on the swing, I saw a girl screaming a boy. She was gorgeous, but she was crying.

"I don't feel the same way anymore, y/n," He told her Y/N. Pretty. I turned back around and lowered the sound of my music so I could hear what they were saying, knowing completely well that I shouldn't be eavesdropping.

"Oh, but you feel that way about her, right?" She yelled. I winced at the crack of her voice. She was going to start crying again. "I thought you loved me," She said softly.

"Well, I don't so get the fuck over it," He screamed at her. My fists clenched around the chains of the swing. "Look, we were never in love, okay? It was just you," He said.

What kind of asshole breaks up with his girl, in public? At a park? That's just- and she sounds so, so, broken by it. "But I-I th-thought you lo-loved me," She stuttered out. I closed my eyes.

I should've just left. It wasn't right that I'm listening. It's none of my business. But something told me to stay and listen. And so I did. "Look, all you ever did was be clingy and annoying, always wanting to be around me, I need space, okay?" He told her. I winced. "You'll be fine, go find someone else that'll put up with your bullshit." He told her. I sighed.

I turned to see her and she was so broken, my heart hurt. She looked up at him with tears in her eyes, but anger too. She was shaking and crying- I just wanted to wrap my arms around her. "Y-you love-loved m-me." She was stuttering. I wanted to punch the asshole in the face.

"Find a ride home," He said. I kept watching as he walked to a car, parked on the side of the road. He held up a hand. "Bye, y/n." He said, getting into the car. I looked over to see y/n watching him drive away.

She fell to her knees, crying. Her phone slipped onto the concrete, and I winced. Standing up, I pulled off my headphones and walked over. "Hey," I said, softly. She looked up and wiped at her eyes. I knelt down next to her. "Need some company?" I asked. She shook her head. She stood up.

"I'm okay, th-thank you," She said. She waved and began walking away. I sighed and looked down, only to see her phone, screen shattered.

"Um, excuse me?" I called. She didn't turn. I picked up her phone and ran behind her. "'scuze me, your phone." She turned and looked at me. I smiled at her and handed her the phone. She looked at it, before slowly taking.

"Thank you." She said, voice cracking slightly. "I- thank you," She said. I smiled.

"No worries." She nodded and stood there awkwardly. I sighed, looking at her once again. "Need a ride?"

"Why- why were you at the park?" She asked as I held open the passenger seat door for her. I smiled.

"Just there to think," I told her honestly. "Needed some alone time," I said. She nodded and thanked me as I closed the door. I ran over to the driver's seat and sat next to her. Flashing her a smile I started the car.

"I-I'm y/n," She said. I nodded and smiled.

"Pretty name," I said. She shrugged. "I'm Grayson." She nodded and looked out the window.

"I'm sorry, I'm a mess," She said with a slight smile. I smiled back at her. "Uh, I live just-" I cut her off.

"It's totally fine if you can't but I wondering if you wanted to go get coffee or something?" I asked. She looked at me and I smiled, taking a left towards my favorite coffee place. "It's cool if you don't, just thought maybe..." I trailed off, hoping she'd say yes.
