"I don't know, you tell me," You said with a smile, leaning against the empty locker next to hers. She shoved a textbook onto her bottom shelf and tried to pick up another. "If he wants to break up with you, he will."
"I know, I just- I don't want to- I feel like he doesn't even like me." You frowned. "Maybe I should break up with him?"
"Don't just break up with him," You said with a frown. "Talk to him about it." She nodded with a sigh. Y/BFF shrugged and checked her bag.
"What do I have after lunch- frick-"
"English?" She nodded and pulled out that binder. You looked up and away from her. "My locker nex-" You stopped and she looked up at you.
"-tuh?" She finished. You didn't say anything and she looked behind her, following your gaze. Her eyebrows raised. "Is that-"
"Yeah," You breathed out. She shut her locker, swinging her bag over her shoulder. "Oh my god."
"Okay calm down, is he coming over he-"
"Y/N?" Y/BFF turned back around and waddled over to your side. She nudged your shoulder and you gave him a smile.
"Grayson," You acknowledged. He smiled. "What're you doing here?"
"This is my new school," He said with a smile. Your jaw fell a little bit and you felt y/bff pinch you. "I transferred."
"Oh?" He nodded, a hand running through his hair. You gulped and stood straight. "Well, this is y/bff- y/bff, this is Grayson- I went to elementary with him."
"Hey," Gray said with a wave. She waved back. Oh, she knew all about him.
"Well," She paused, fixing the strap of her backpack. "It's nice meeting you- maybe we'll have classes?" Grayson nodded. You looked at her. "I'm gonna go see my boyfriend now-"
"Y/BFF!" You hissed. She smiled at you, patting your shoulder as she skipped off. You turned back up at Grayson. "Well, long time no see."
"Right?" You smiled, nodding. "Haven't seen you since graduation."
"It's been a while." The last time you'd seen him, he'd rejected you.
You stood in silence for a moment before he tilted his head. "Show me around?" You nodded, hands in your pockets as you walked next to him. "You look so different," He said.
"So do you." He looked down.
"Good or bad different?" You chose not to answer.
"So why'd you move?" You asked. His face fell. "Failing?" You teased. He laughed.
"Oh shut up." You pointed across the hall.
"Math office." He nodded and you pointed in the other direction. "Art office- language offices are down on the first floor." He nodded some more.
"So, how're you liking it here?" He asked. You smiled.
"It's been three years, Gray, I know this place pretty well." He smiled. "How do you- you've been here, what, an hour?"
"Just about." You nodded and he held the door open for you before the stairwell. "Was that your friend?" You turned back to watch him follow you.
"Y/BFF- yeah." He smiled. This was the most awkward conversation you'd ever had with him. "Had to make some friends around here."
