(y/n pov)

You twirled around the living room slowly, eyes closed, music all the way up in your earbuds. You sighed to yourself as you reminded yourself what you were gonna do in a couple of hours. You let the music calm you down and spun slowly. But soon, you felt two arms go around your waist. You stopped spinning.

"Hey baby," Ethan whispered into your ear after pulling one earbud out. You nodded. "Wanna tell me why all the furniture is moved to the side?" He asked. You shrugged, pulling away from him, continuing to close your eyes and turn.

"Felt like making myself happy," You said. He chuckled and walked towards you. You sighed as he took one earbud, and listened to what you were listening to.

"By listening to Alec Benjamin?" He asked, with a smile. You shrugged and took the earbud from him, putting it back in your ear. "Everything okay? You seem sad," He said, watching you spin slowly.

"Not sad, I'm fine," You replied honestly. He sighed. "Where did you go for a week?" You asked him, one eye open.

"Editing with Gray, prefilming and stuff" He replied, sitting down on the pushed away couch. You nodded. "You haven't called me in a couple of days, what's up with that?" He asked. You raised your eyebrows.

"Have you called me?" You asked. He looked up from his ring and shook his head slowly. "Exactly," You said quietly.

"I just figured you were busy," He mumbled. You looked at him.

"Me? Busy?" You shook your head and laughed slightly. "Oh, Ethan," You sighed.

"Are you mad at me or something?" He asked. You looked at him. "Can you just tell me so we don't fight?" He asked.

"I'm not mad," You said, truthfully. "And I don't want to fight, either," You told him. You put your earbud in and spun in silence.

Ethan sat there watching you for a moment, not understanding where you were coming at. "Can we talk y/n?" You opened your eyes, pausing your music.

"About what, Ethan?" He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "How we barely talk? How I see you once a week?" He looked at you confused.

"Things've just been hectic with the channel and everything, you know that," He told you. You looked at him, a hand on your hip.

"No I don't, because you never told me so," You told him. He sighed, leaning back into the couch. "Ethan, we're drifting, and we both know that," You said. He shook his head.

"No we're not, y/n, stop exaggerating," He rolled his eyes and you raised your eyebrows. "We just need to talk more, right? Then let's talk," He said, patting the seat next to him. You shook your head.

"Ethan?" You said after a few moments of silence. He nodded, standing up. "Kiss me."

He pressed his lips to yours and attempted to move them. You opened your eyes and watched him try to kiss you but just ended up pulling away. He stared down at you and you looked up at him. "You didn't kiss me back," He said, quietly.

"Did you feel it?" You asked, ignoring his question. He looked down, confusion clear in his eyes.

"Feel what?" He asked. You nodded.

"Exactly," You whispered. You began to turn away from his as he grabbed your elbow, pulling you back to him. "Ethan, you felt nothing."

"I felt you not kissing me back," He said. You shook your head. He was missing the point. "What was I supposed to feel?" He asked. You sighed.

"Love," You said. He looked down at you. "You were supposed to feel the sparks, the connection, the, the, the feeling of forever." You told him.

"I-" you cut him off before he could start.

"You didn't feel it, and neither did I," You said quietly. He closed his mouth and your eyes met. "We're not in love anymore, Ethan," You whispered.

"But I love you," He said, very sure of himself. You nodded.

"And I love you," You said. "But I'm not in love with you." You said. He looked away before looking back at you.

"Is there someone else, is that why you're not in love with me anymore?" He asked. You shook your head.

"There's no one else, Ethan," You said, honestly. "I swear to god, there's no one else."

"So you just decided you're not in love with me anymore?" He asked quietly. You shook your head again.

"I didn't decide, Ethan, it just happened," You said. He nodded, stepping back from you slightly. "And you can't say that you're still in love with me either. Then you'd be lying to the both of us," You whispered. He looked down at the floor.

"Are we breaking up?" He whispered. You shrugged and he looked up at you. "If we're not in love with each other anymore, we should break up," He said, whispering the very last part. You looked up at him, tears in your eyes.

"I think we should," You said. He nodded. "The past few years have been the best, Ethan, I don't regret a single moment," You told him, from the bottom of your heart. He nodded.

"Me neither, thank you," He said quietly. "I'm- I'm glad we were together, for as long as we were," He said softly. You nodded.

"Me too," You said. "And Ethan?" He looked up and nodded.

"I do love you, I always will," You told him honestly. He nodded and gave you a sad smile.

"I love you too." You stood in silence for a moment. "And y/n?" You looked up at him and gave him a sad smile in return, nodding.

"Can you kiss me? One last time."
