John and Grace greeted everyone one by one. By that time we were served with more champagne and lunch.
I had a hearty meal while Jake looked like he was about to throw up.
"What happened?" I asked as he washed down another glass of champagne.
"I feel nervous. Dancing is not really my thing." He looked around the hall nervously at the people present.
"It's okay. Just take a deep breath and keep your eyes trained on me." I advised.
He groaned. "That's not an advice Rissa. My eyes are always trained on you." I felt fuzzy inside by his words or it was probably the champagne. Who was I kidding, it's him, it's always him.
After lunch it was time for the surprise program finally.
Taylor had wished us a best of luck after coming and hugging the breaths out of us. She just reached in time of the program. She looked beautiful as ever. She was wearing a baby pink coloured off the shoulder romper. Her hair were spread out with her natural waves along her shoulder.
First it was the time for Katja's performance who not to mention was amazing on the stage. I cheered for her and the others joined. Her dance ended with a long round of applause. John and Grace were looking at their daughter with the biggest smiles on their faces and pride gleaming in their eyes.
After that it was time for speeches by Grace and their old maid of honour and best man (their best friends).
Laughters and chuckles were heard in between speeches. The whole program was very lively.
Then it was finally time for the last dance of the evening. Mine and Jake's.
We got up from our chairs as everybody cheered for us. I could hear Taylor's voice in between cheering for me. I shook my head at my best friends doing.
Best friends are your best cheer leaders.
We took our positions on the stage. Jake's eyes met mine and he took a huge breath. I squeezed his hand and smiled. He smiled back.
The music finally started.
What would I do without your smart mouth.
We started dancing. Jake's hand was smooth on mine as he turned me around.
Drawing me in and you kicking me out.
As adviced his eyes stayed connected to me the whole time.
You got my head spinning no kidding I can't pin you down.
It felt like there was no one there in the room but us.
His arms on mine were the only feeling I was aware about. Just me and him. His eyes were continuosly pinned on me as he moved me smoothly around the dance floor.
All of me loves all of you
Jake mouthed the words of the lyrics and his eyes crinkled as he smiled from his eyes.
You are my end and my beginning.
Even when I loose I am winning.
Tears started filling up my eyes as he started lip syncing the lyrics.
His eyes showed that he meant every word as a promise. A promise to me, for me.
The love that he had for me clearly showed in his eyes. The adoration, the longing, the happiness. It was all there.
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you.
His lips spread out in the most beautiful smile as he finally dipped me down at the end of the dance.
Tears escaped my eyes and he kissed them away.
A beautiful smile made its way on his face as he pulled me up.
Loud applause startled me as we turned to face the audience. I completely forgot about them. It was just Jake in front of me. It was just Jake for me.
I wiped my eye and we bowed down. Grace had tears slipping down her cheeks as she applauded loudly for us. John had a big smile on his face. My mom had a knowing look on her face as she clapped for us. Her face showed nothing but total happiness for her daughter. My father had the same look of pride and happiness.
Taylor was a completely different story. Her hands were in the air as she applauded loudly. Her face had the biggest, fattest grin a person could ever imagine.
As we got down from the stage I was attacked by Taylor in a hug. "That was the most beautiful and romantic thing I have ever seen in my life. You two looked like you didn't give a care about anyone in this room but the two of you which is a little offending for me but it's okay I'll let it go."
I chuckled at her little speech.
Taylor then hugged Jake. "You better take care of my best friend." She warned.
"Yes ma'am." His amused eyes found mine. "Always." Another promise.
After getting a lot of hugs and praises from our parents and the guests we were finally able to get away.
Jake took my hand in his and we walked to the beach.
The air was chilly so Jake shrugged off from his suit jacket and gave it to me.
We both sat down on the same rock we sat days ago and looked over at the ocean. Neither of us were talking but the silence was comforting between us. My hand was still in Jake's and he was making comforting circles on the back of my hand.
"You know, this has been the best week of my entire life." Jake spoke up.
I smiled at the ocean ahead. Can't agree more. "Mine too."
We felt silent again.
It was me who spoke up after.
I looked over at Jake sitting beside me. This was the man I loved with all my heart. This handsome, gorgeous, perfectly imperfect man was all mine and I wasn't going to let go, ever. No matter how hard I got to fight. I loved him and he loved me and it was all that matters.
"I love you Jake." I whispered.
He looked at me and his eyes lit up immediately. His hand squeezed mine lightly.
"And I love you Clarissa, with all my heart."
