Hindi na muna ako lumabas pa sa aking kwarto. Kinailangan ko pang magparoom service para lang makakain ako.

Oo nga pala. He's the fucking owner of Cordova's Law Firm. Ang tanga ko. I should've think of it.

Kinalma ko ang aking sarili.

Hindi mo na kailangang tumakbo pa Eliss. This is it, you're finally facing him. I said to myself.

I should really stick to the plan. Make him feel like he never existed in my life. That's it.

Nagprepare na lamang ako para sa party dahil mag-aalas sais na.

I chose a dark themed bodycon dress exposing my left leg and just let my hair down. I didn't put some accessories to make me look natural.  Not the trying hard one.

I looked at myself in the mirror at napangiti ako. I'm so proud of what I become. The dress looks simple but elegant. Kinuha ko na lamang ang maliit kong purse at ang invitation ko bago bumaba ng building.

Pagdating ko sa reception hall, halos lahat ay nandoon na. Everyone is in their formal suit at mga mukhang busy ang mga ito sa pakikipagdaldalan sa iba. Pero kahit ganun pa man, batid kong nakuha ko ang atensyon ng iba. Ofcourse, who wouldn't notice me? I'm the youngest in the room I think.

I walked around and stopped for a while when a bunch of gentlemen approached me.

"Ms. Dela Fuente, it's nice to see you again here."

Pilit akong ngumiti sa kaniya. "Im glad to see you too Mr. Buenavista." Nakipagkamay ako sa kaniya as formality.

"Wow you're so successful now. In such young age, I'm proud to see you on top."

"Thank you Mr. Buenavista. Your media expands too wide too, congratulations on that." Puri ko dito pabalik.

Pinakilala ako ni Mr. Buenavista sa ibang mga kasamahan niya. Kilala ko naman ang iba dahil sa popularidad ng mga ito.

I was about to excuse myself when I heard a familiar voice in my back making me froze.

"Look who's here, another successful young gentleman." I heard Mr. Chi said.

"No need to say that Mr. Chi." He said.

Nakipagkamay ito sa mga kalalakihan at nang humarap ito sa gawi ko ay nagulat ito nang makita ako. His hand was still raised kaya tinanggap ko naman ito.

"Mr. Cordova, long time no see. I'm glad to see you here." I said when he didn't say a single word.

"Ms. Dela Fuente." He mentioned and nothing more.

Nakipagtitigan ako sa kaniya sa sandaling iyon at nang mapansing sa amin na nakatutok ang iba ay binitawan ko na ang kamay niya.

"Jane."

Napalingon ako sa tumawag sa aking pangalan. Hindi ko napansin, may kasama pala siya.

"Amber." Banggit ko rin dito.

"You look different now." Sabi nito sa akin matapos niya akong tingnan mula ulo hanggang paa.

"Yes. Completely."

Nagpaalam ang iba para maupo na. Ako na rin sana pero nagsalita na naman siya.

"By the way haven't you heard, my Mom just got out and we're finally taking our business internationally." Masayang sabi nito.
