Chapter Thirty-one

"Wake up Dad please. Your baby's here. I'm here now Dad." Iyak ko kay Daddy.

Hindi ako sanay na nakikita siyang mahina at maysakit. My Daddy is used to be a strong and cheerful man. He always cheers me up, play with me, spoil me and side with me whenever Mom tries to scold me. I am not used to what he is right now.

"Anak he'll be okay. Don't worry." I embraced Mom. God I miss them so much.

Mom called the doctor to explain everything to me. Dad started to feel sick a year ago. The doctor said my dad is fine now and is expected to wake up anytime soon. Sana lang gumising siya bago ang pasko.

I introduced Vlad to my Mom but she didn't react that much. I think she already knows. Knowing she has a lot of ears in the Philippines plus my aunt, she probably know a lot of things happening to me. Good thing she seems cool around Vlad, and Vlad to her at the same time. Ako lang yata ang kinabahan noong ipinakilala ako ni Vlad sa mga magulang niya.

Mom insisted us to go home first. She lend us her driver and the car to take us to our home here in New York City. It isn't that big compared to the Philippines but it cost a lot also.

Dumiretso ako sa aking kwarto. Ilang taon na rin mula noong nanirahan ako dito. Everything is still the same, nandito pa rin ang mga gamit ko. I sat on the side of the bed because I still feel sad. Naramdaman ko namang tumabi sa akin si Vlad.

"Eliss don't worry to much, your Dad will be okay." He said.

"I hope so Vlad."

Tumayo ito. "Okay instead of sitting in here feeling lonely why don't you tour me around. Bring me to the places where you always go."

Pumayag ako sa kaniyang sinabi. Tama siya, hindi dapat ako nagmumukmok, mas lalo lang malulungkot si Dad. I should be strong for him.

We change into a more thick clothes because it's winter season here in the US. I borrowed one of Mom's car to make it easier for us to travel. Vlad insisted that he should drive but I stopped him. Hindi nito alam ang pasikot-sikot dito. Kahit ako man ay hindi na masyadong pamilyar sa lugar dahil sa maraming estrukturang nagsitayuan mula ng umalis ako.

"Let's buy some clothes first." I suggested.

"Yeah sure, so where exactly we're headed?"

"Ofcourse to the best shopping street in town the Fifth Avenue " I smiled as I remember the place.

It took us time to park the car in the area. Hell, it's full. The street is overcrowded. I should've known better, it's Christmas!

Vlad holds my hand and keeps me close to him so we won't be separated by the crowd.
We went inside every high end designer shops like Gucci, Prada, Valentino, Armani, Fendi and some more. All we did bought were winter clothes that's enough for our two-week staycation here.

We spend almost have of the day in the street since every shop is full. We went next to Le Bernardin to have some early dinner. Good thing, it isn't full. I love this resto, my Dad always brought me here back then. The foods in here are also amazing.

"I love New York now." Vlad smilingly said.

"You've never been here before?" I asked.

"No, whenever we go here LA is the only place we visit. I never had a chance to tour around it's neighbor cities.

"Well, LA's wonderful as well."

I've been in there also, Mom and Dad usually lets me come with them in their meetings and other activities that's why I've been to different places as well.
