i woke up to an empty bed so i sat up against the headboard and went on my phone until mattia came in the room a few minutes later.
"hey what's wrong?" i asked because he looked pretty upset.
"i just called the pet store and they took the kitten" he sighed and took his hand and pulled him onto the bed.
"who did?"
"i don't know who but they told me the new owner already signed the adoption papers yesterday. it's not fair y/n he was meant to be ours"
"awh babyy" i said and hugged him.
i felt bad that he was upset but it would lowkey make the surprise even better later.
he laid his head on my chest and i played with his hair.
"we can get another one mattia it's okay" i told him.
"but i wanted that one" he sighed and i just nodded and we stayed in that position for like 30 minutes.
"you got any plans for today?" i asked him.
"i'm gonna see my parents for a bit , then i'll be back. you?"
"probably just see jem for an hour. but can we go grocery shopping in the evening?"
"yeah sure"
so we both went and got dressed. i wore this , with the hoodie mattia got me for christmas over it:

"okay i'll see you later" mattia said and kissed me before he left.
after he was gone , i left to go to the pet store. when i got there the guy saw me and took me to the kittens room so i could get our little baby. as soon as i saw him my heart melted all over again. he was perfect.
"hi baby" i smiled as he came over to me and let me stroke him.
i held him in my arms as i took him out the room and the guy gave me the papers and stuff and i could finally take him home.
we got home and mattia wasn't back which was good so he had time to explore the apartment.
an hour later , i knew mattia was almost home so i let the kitten play in the guest room so mattia wouldn't see him.
"i'm homee" mattia said as he shut the door behind him.
"hey" i smiled and reached up to kiss him.
"how were they?" i asked and we sat down of the sofa next to each other.
"they were good , they're going on a weekend trip tomorrow so they were excited about that" he told me.
"awh that's sweet" i said.
mattia leaned his head back and rubbed his face.
"you okay?" i asked.
"i was really excited to get that kitten. i know it sounds dumb but i had a name for him and everything. i'm just annoyed because if we would have called before yesterday we would have got him" he said.
