"i need you with me"

i ran out of kairi's car and straight into the hospital with him running in behind me. we saw the group and mattia's parents in the waiting area.

"where is he!?" i shouted , tears streaming down my face. 

"y/n we can't see him yet they're checking him" jem said wrapping her arms around me but i pushed her off. 

"no i need to see him now!!" i cried and mattia's mum came and pulled me into a hug and rubbed my back as we both cried our eyes out. 

"come sit down it's gonna be okay" jade said with tears in her eyes. 

they dragged us to the seats and i held onto his mums hand and jem had her arm around me. this waiting was killing me and all i wanted was to know that he was okay. i got up and ran to the bathroom and locked myself in the cubicle trying to count my breaths. my head was hurting like hell and my throat was dry from crying. 

"y/n" jem said softly knocking on the cubicle door. 

i unlocked the door and she hugged me and this time i didn't have it in me to push her away. i cried into her shoulder as she tried to comfort me. 

"i can't lose him jem" i cried.

"he's strong , you won't" she told me.

after a few minutes we came out the bathroom and sat back down. 

"whose here for mattia polibio?" the doctor called out and we all stood up quickly.

"all of you? he's a lucky boy" he said and we nodded.

"right well , he's alive , luckily so because that crash was very impactful. he's not got any broken bones but he lost quite a bit of blood from his head so he's currently in a coma. we can't tell how long it will be before he wakes up but his breathing is regulating again which is a good sign. he can have visitors in the room now but only one person can stay overnight. the room is a little small for all of you at once so maybe go in 2 groups" the doctor told us and we were all relieved to hear he was alive but the rest of it broke my heart. 

everyone looked at me and his parents.

"i don't wanna go first , you guys go" i said. 

i wasn't ready to see him like that. 

everyone checked with me again and his parents went in first with jem kairi and ale and then soon they came out and the others went in. 

his parents were both in tears and i hurt me to see them like this as well. it was almost 11pm now and i could tell they were both tired.

"can i stay with him" i asked.

"are you sure?" they asked.

"yes" 

they said okay and they left and said they'd be back tomorrow. soon the others came out too and it was just me left. 

"are you staying overnight?" jem asked and i nodded.

"want us to bring you any clothes or anything?" 

"no i'm fine" 

they all said goodbye and hugged me. after they left i made my way to his room trying to prepare myself.

i opened the door slowly and there he was. 

laying on the hospital bed. eyes closed. bandage around his head. scars on his cheeks. a long cut on his arm. a nasal cannula hooked in his nose. his black ring still on his finger. 

tears fell down my face as i saw him. 

i walked closer to his bed and sat on the chair next to it just as the doctor walked in.
