Chapter 5

~1:11am~
My eyes flutter open a few torches are still lit while most are out.

I was about to rub the tired out of my eyes with one of my hands when my right hand jolted to a stop.

I turn on my side to find Levi holding my hand tightly in his sleep, his lips gently pressed on my knuckles, he looks so peaceful in what small light I could see on his face.

I want to get up and stretch but Levi won't let go of my hand. I figure it would be horrible to wake him up at this time, I try to pull my hand away and I successfully break free.

Levi's hand gently balls into a fist, I stand up and walk to the closest window, I gently pull back the curtain to thankfully find nothing, it's still pitch black but I can make out the trees and fields and fields of grass.

I jump in fright my breath hitches in my throat as a hand falls onto my shoulder, I turn to find Erwin I don't know how he does it but he looks wide awake...

"Cadet L/N, why are you awake?", he asks, he's always so formal even though he knew my family for years I suppose it's respectful in his eyes.

"I decided to stretch", I say, Erwin chucks a blanket on my head with a smile and says, "You're thinking about your father and why he wanted you here so badly aren't you?", I nod poking my head out from underneath the blanket not wanting to avoid my answer.

"Well I know for a fact your father was... 'different', he wanted to make you apart of the survey corps for a reason I cannot tell you yet", he says his smile is gone, "In other matters how are feeling being apart of the Wings of Freedom?", he asks.

I wrap the blanket around me and say, "It's alright, I'm sure eventually I will get over the fear of the dark and those titans, but everyone's friendly so that's awesome!", I give a bright smile, Erwin's eyes flash in amazement, "Is that so? I guess you find someone in this place more friendly than others", he looks over to Levi who's sleeping.

My face explodes in a bomb of red, "E-Erwin Sir!", my voice is a shocked whisper, Erwin smirks, "Looks like I'll have to tell your mother that you're hanging out with Levi Ackerman!", he cheekily whispers back.

I grab onto Erwin's arm and try to keep my voice in a whisper, "Erwin! Please! Don't tell mum!", he let's out a small laugh, "You are still a child on the inside it's good to see", Erwin says then his eyes smack open.

The door is wide open and a titan as tall as the door way is frozen in place, it has a big open smile as it stands in a certain pose that helps it stand in place.

Erwin's breathing is heard in the silence as we stand frozen, that wasn't there before...

My eyes turn to the sun dial on the closest table '4 O'clock' We spent so much time talking we didn't even notice how much time was spent... AT ANY MOMENT THAT THING COULD MOVE!

I exchange glances with Erwin, he nods for me to wake up Levi while he tries to grab his 3DMG.

I slowly make my way across the room my eyes glued on the terrifying thing in the doorway, it stands still but I swore it's pupils twitched.

I gently put a hand on Levi's shoulder my heart pumping as fast as a hammer on a row of nails and gently shake Levi.

He groaned and my breath hitches I immediately look at the titan and to my shock and what I wish I didn't see, it's eyes locked with mine, it's body still stuck in place...

Erwin froze in place when he grabbed his gear he stared at me then the titan, his eyes wide with fear and worry he gave me a look of 'Don't Move'...

I stay still fear flooding my veins, (heh I dare you to listen to female titan battle theme and read this... It freaked me out and I was writing this... 😞)

My hand squeezes Levi's shoulder in fear, I practically beg in my head for him to wake up, the sun started to rise through the windows time is running out!

I try to shake Levi again but one of my legs gave out under me when I am crouched for being in that position for too long and when I looked up THE TITAN LUNGES AT ME FROM THE DOORWAY!

It's smile getting closer and closer every mili second, a scream escapes my throat and blood was splattered across the wall...

I open my eyes to find Levi with his arms on either side of my head on the wall his head facing behind him, I look over his shoulder to find Erwin covered in the titans blood and its body lifelessly on the concrete floor.

Tears leave my eyes without me noticing and I wince in horror at the event that happened, Levi turns his gaze to me his eyes are still cold, I wrap my arms around his neck and cry into his chest.

"It's alright now Cadet", Levi pats my back gently feeling awkward, Hanji's voice rang across the room as cadets started to wake up, "Give her a proper hug Levi she was almost killed", she says as she gets out of her sleeping bag and pushes Levi into me making my back bump into the wall.

Levi growls and wraps his arms around my waist tightly as I continued to cry.

Erwin informed everyone on what happened and that we need to pack as fast as we can.

~Levi and I headed to the roof~
Once we reach the top of the castle reck we look around for any sign of the horses, carts, or any titans.

My tears have dried but I stay in Levi's arms, we look over the fields and our eyes widen...
