Chapter 29

(Y/N's POV)
I wake up to the sounds of people frantically stomping and sprinting past my room.

Hanji threw open my door and says, "Y/N, get dressed! Wall Maria re-opened again!", I thought she was joking but it was clear she wasn't with the serious face she held.

Once dressed us cadets lined up at the training grounds, Erwin is pacing back and forth in stress, Levi speaks across to us all.

"We... Have no idea how the wall keeps re-opening, but we intend to find the source of it happening, but in the meantime we need to close that wall",

He continues,

"Get ready, we have to take action before more and more titans flood the district, Eren we need your titan strength, Y/N stay close by we might need you too", I nod at his orders and we scurry off to the crates and gear.

Standing on Wall Maria was enough to bring back memories of the first time being up here and getting lost in the town.

I shiver at the thought, everyone flies off the wall in their 3DMG slicing and dicing titans napes.

The titans still erupt fear in my heart, even with all my strength, I still fear them.

"Y/N", Levi notices my face, I look at him and try to force a smile. We stand at the top of the wall over the gap inside it.

I grip onto my blades and say, "I'm too scared...", he nods and says, "I'll be back don't move", just like that he leaves and comes back to me over and over to do his job.

I look at the titans, Levi keeps trying to encourage me to go down there but I never really have the guts to.

He flies back up to me, he holds my shoulders, he says, "Come on", I worriedly say, "I will! Just give me time!", Levi smirks and falls off the wall.

I yelp and see him continuing to fall, he doesn't pull up with his gear, he just falls.

Thinking and arguing with my brain quickly I force myself to jump down, 'He's humanity's strongest if he dies most of our plans our screwed and I can't see someone I know die', I dive cutting through the air.

I make impact with his chest hugging his waist tightly, his eyes crack open, he has a small smile, I turn him around so I am under him and activate my gear throwing us high in the air.

He chuckles, I grip onto him tightly and he grappled to a nearby house and forces me with him into the nest of titans.

Luckily where we landed was clear for now, I cling to Levi like glue, shivering in fear.

Levi sees a titan and pokes my head to look, he says, "Go kill that one for me", I look at him as if he's crazy and he pulls me off him and shoves my forward.

I look back at him and say desperately, "If something happens, will you come save me?", he nods and says, "Yes but remember, you aren't always going to have a Knight in shining armor, the best protection is yourself".

I turn back to the titan, its mindless being walking towards us, I gulp nervously, my heart thumping in my chest.

I take a hesitant step forward then...

I run towards it with incredible speed, using my gear I attach to the titan, and I imagine the dummy back at the training grounds.

I swing around it and slice its nape so quickly the blood doesn't even hit me.

I land on a house feeling giddy and overwhelmed with happiness.

Levi runs over to me jumping over roof gaps and when he reaches me he says, "How did it feel?", I say excitedly, "I was so terrified, I still am! But it was kinda fun", Levi took my shoulders and faced me to the town seeing all the walking titans.

He whispers in my ear, "Have fun".

From titan to titan taking them out like domino's I was having fun despite the grousome situation.

I laughed happily after my twenty seventh one, whenever I flew after a titan one of the cadets would shout, "Go Y/N!"

(Levi's POV)
I swing from place to place, house to house, and titan to titan while trying to keep my eye on Y/N but she's so fast!

If I blink she's gone!

Then I hear a female shout happily, "Whoohoo!", and as if it were slow motion I see her fly past me with a smile on her face.

My heart skips a beat, I look absent minded, my jaw slightly open before a genuine smile appears on my lips.

It makes me happy to see her having fun.

(Y/N's POV)
I cheer in my courage when something hits me as I'm flying, my line has snapped by an abnormal but with a slash of Levi's blades he kills the titan and catches me in the process.

I hang onto his neck as he carries me bridal style and he gently sets me on a house, "Levi...", I say his name softly, his face inches from mine, he feels so comfortable to be in the arms of.

He realises what he is doing and breaks away clearing his throat, "Uh, Cadet L/N, you are needed to help Eren block up the wall", he says.

"Oh..", was the only word that left ny lips, I shake my head and nod, "Yeah I'll get to it then, Captain...", I jump off the house and swing away from him.

I turn into a titan and crunch the skulls of enemy titans, kicking and smashing their bodies in.

Eren nears the gate and slams another massive boulder he found into the gate, we kill of the rest of the titans in the town before we come to rest back on the wall.

When we come back to HQ, I am completely tired but before I can go to my room Levi catches my attention by taking my arm.

I look at him curiously and he says, "I want... I want you to join my squad", I take a moment to process before I say happily, "Yes! I would love too!", Levi gives me a small smile and says, "I'm proud of you, look how far you've come Cadet, keep it up", he leaves me alone in the hallway.

I feel happy but a bit of me wished he said something else to me... I enter my room and fall to sleep.
