Chapter 17

~(Y/N's POV)~
Daylight makes it's way through my bedroom curtains, I groan hide under my blanket.

I poke my head out under the sheets when I hear someone shuffle beside me.

I gasp when I see Levi sound asleep, my face heats up and I make my head fall into my pillow in embarrassment.

'Sleeping in the same bed as my corporal... There's nothing wrong right? I mean he didn't do anything that I know of', I thought I start to suffocate from being face first in my pillow, I spring up in bed and gasp for air.

"Idiot", Levi says tiredly looking up at me, I lay back down and turn away from him, "Go back and sleep with Jake if you're going to call me an idiot", I cross my arms feeling squished.

"Are you flustered I'm laying with you?", Levi asks amused, I turn over and give him a glare, "Why would I be you're my corporal, there is like three corporals in this house and one of them is retired", I say letting my arms rest on the bed in front of me.

Levi stares at me for a moment before he says, "I remember your father when he was a corporal", I jump up and lean over him, "For real?", I ask interested.

He nods and says, "Your father was weak when it came to his fears, he feared titans too but after a while he got the balls to actually do something about it and took down many titans, he was scared when his own daughter turned into one though because it was still something he still hides away from but I believe you can be better than your father strength wise", he finishes pushing a strand of hair behind my ear.

Before I could say anything Jake bursts into the room, "Breakfast is ready! Oho~" Jake stops admiring the scene leaning against the door frame.

"Get out brat!", Levi growls, Jake raises his hands in defense and back out the door before he yells, "MA! Y/N IS SLEEPING WITH THE CORPORAL!".

My mother's voice is distant down the hall, "Leave them alone Jake!".

I fall onto my back covering my face, Levi's voice catches me attention, "How do you even live with such a bratty brother?", he asks, I shrug.

~Breakfast~
I happily eat my food ignoring my brothers ridiculous stare.

"Lily, Leon, when Y/N was sick and you decided to send her to Grisha Jeager hoping he would cure her why did he turn her into a titan?", Levi asks, my parents exchange looks and Erwin speaks up.

"Grisha had this syrum, he said it would cure her, but it turns out Grisha just wanted another experiment to test on other than Eren", he says.

I try to brighten the mood by smiling, "But I did get cured though!", I laugh nervously but Levi stares daggers into me.

I hide my reaction in my cup of water feeling awkward.

Erwin rubs my back to comfort me and says, "We have no idea what Grisha's intentions were but it was obviously something to do with titans".

We all fall silent, then my mother says, "Y/N I almost forgot", she leaves the room and comes back with papers.

Once they are handed to me I am speechless, "You have a chance to stay home or join another regiment", she bursts into a smile.

I look up from the papers, "Where did you even get these?", I ask, my mother looks to my father and my father nods to Erwin.

I lock eyes with Erwin, "That's why I was late yesterday I had a face to face with Commander Pixis and the King", he says.

I can sense Levi staring beside me, I speak up and say, "I'll think about for now I'll stay at the Survey Corps", I give a half smile and tuck the papers in my pocket.

~Leaving~
Levi helps me into the carriage with Erwin in front of me, my family waves goodbye while my mother bursts into tears seeing her daughter leave again.

I lay back on my seat as the carriage starts to move and smile happy knowing how my family has been.

"Did you enjoy that Y/N?", Erwin asks, I nod happily and turn to Levi, "Did you survive being in my household?", I ask giggling at the time when Jake kept being a butt.

Levi sighs, "It was unexpected that they would be your family but as I looked closer at how they act they summarize you", he crosses his arms once he finishes.

"What! How do they summarize me!", I ask not sure how to take the situation, Levi rolls his eyes and says, "You have your mother's cheekiness, you have your brothers idiocy, and finally you have your fathers weakness", he counts on his fingers.

I grumble and Erwin looks between us with interest, "Is it just me or is it you two are getting more and more friendly as these days go on?", he says, Levi 'tch's him.

After a couple of hours we stop to grab something to eat.

Walking around the market stalls Levi is being drowned in a sea of fan girls, Erwin chuckles and says," Y/N, come on he'll catch up later", he puts a hand on my back and leads me away.

My eyes stare at Levi as we are leaving and something around my heart closes but I ignored it and face where Erwin and I are headed.

We buy us each an apple and a spare for Levi when he eventually finds us and walk the town a bit.

"Is it normal for Levi to be swarmed by fangirls?", I ask and Erwin laughs at my question, he says, "Yes it is, it's always funny to watch-", Erwin halts his words before he can say anything else after seeing my reaction.

I don't know what he saw in my reaction but it was something to make him stop, I was replaced with confusion.

"Erwin?", I ask, he breaks out of his trance and says, "It's nothing", he smiles and messes up my hair.

Levi huff and puffs with an angry look when he catches up to us, he looks like he just went on a battle against a bunch of titans and only just survived.

I start laughing and he is too out of breath to yell at me, instead he gives me a glare.

"Here", I give him the spare apple, he 'Tch's me and says, "Thanks brat", he gives me a small smile.

Erwin switches his glance between us with a hand on his chin.
