Chapter 19

~(Y/N's POV)~
I huff and puff, I feel my arms growing stiff from doing pull ups, I drop onto my back catching my breath.

'It's only been three weeks since Annie's been gone, I've been working myself to the bone to grow stronger and maker her proud, she would of liked that', I thought to myself trying to catch my breath.

My body aches, lately I've been tired but I've kept it hidden pretty well, every night I would sneak out and do my exercises without Levi as extra work.

I down a bottle of water and almost choke on the liquid, I end up spitting out a bit of water that bubbled up in my throat onto the dusty ground.

I get up my legs wobbly and head back to HQ the bottle in my hand crumbled.

I pass the dining room door when a light flickers down the hall heading my way.

My eyes widen and I quickly tip toe to the dining room to hide inside.

After closing the door behind me I hide behind one of the rows of tables.

'If I get caught after curfew I will get in lots of trouble, every night a Cadet will roam the halls to check if anyone's still awake', My eyes stare at the door trembling fear creeping into my chest when the knob turns.

I duck under the table at the far back of the room, I look up from under the table and see a Cadet, their gaze scans the room like a teenagers eye sight and closes the door leaving.

I breath a whisper of relief and waiting a few more seconds before getting to the door and retreating to my room.

~Morning~
I lazily make it to the dining room for breakfast, once I've got my food I fall into my seat.

I stayed up way too late last night...

Eren sits beside me and asks, "Oi... Are you alright?", Mikasa and Armin join us at the table, the trio stare at me with worry.

"I'm.. Fine", I say 'I'm' like a question, Jean stands by me and chuckles, "Look who's a tired little girl", he bends down pokes me cheek.

I stand up and try to punch him but my actions are beyond weak because of my tired state.

My knuckles brush against his stomach and I end up leaning my head on his chest in embarrassment and exhaustion.

He laughs even more and says, "She's so tired she can't be bothered to even hit me, look how weak she is!", he gives an amused smile and tries to rub my head to ease me.

Eren slaps his hand away and pulls me into his chest, "Horseface! Leave Y/N alone!", Eren hugs me so tight I'm afraid I'm gonna pop but at the same time I just melt into his arms.

"Hey! What's the meaning of this?", Levi growls as he arrives to the scene, Eren takes the back of my head and gently buries my face into his chest looking at Levi.

Eren attempts to sound tough, "Hor- I mean Jean was poking fun at Y/N!", Jean yells, "But he's the one being an asshole and calling me horse face!".

Levi rolls his eyes and turns his gaze to me, "What's wrong Cadet?", he asks angrily, I slowly lift my head at his voice, Eren's hand still protectively holding the back of it.

Eren looks at my face the entire time when he says, "She's very tired Captian", Levi 'Tch's' and says, "I didn't ask you brat! I asked Cadet Y/N.

I tiredly say, "I am very tired Captian but I won't let that get in the way of training... ", my voice grows quieter and quieter as I finish my sentence.

I let my head fall back onto Eren's chest my eyes drift close automatically but I try to force them open.

Levi rips Eren away and pulls me into his arm leading me off, "I will deal with Cadet Y/N in the mean time go clean the stables".

~Levi's Office~
He sits me down of the couch with him and I fall into his arms, I don't have the strength to pull myself away and my body won't let me move so I just lay against him.

He sighs and shifts me so I'm laying my back against the couch and he leaves.

When he comes back he has a tray of tea, he hands me a cup but before I can take a drink with my shaky hands he places his down and hold my hands around my cup to keep them steady.

He gently brings the cup to my lips and let's me drink, once I've finished I felt even more tired from the warm liquid.

I smile and make myself comfortable on the couch, Levi says, "We will speak more of why your tired soon at the moment you need rest".

I nod and say, "Don't I need to go to my room...?", he gets up and picks me up bridal style.

Eventually when he enters my room he stops and glares at Annie's bed refusing to let me lay there and sets me down on my bed.

"I'll talk to you when your well rested at the moment I've got papers to attend to and you've got most of your day planned out", he says placing the covers onto me.

When he puts the last cover onto me I quickly grab his leaving sleeve with what energy I have.

He turns to me quizzically, I look up at him and say "Thank you Corporal".

He gives me a small smile and leaves when he closes my door I hear Hanji's fangirl squeal from through the walls.

I gently giggle to myself and drift to a comfortable relaxing sleep.
