Chapter 16

"You need to get over your fear of your daughter being a titan, she is still your blood and you need to stop neglecting her", I say trying my hardest not to kick Mr L/N in the face.

He only nods and it is time to head to dinner.

~Dinner Time (Y/N's POV)~
We all sit and eat, I hear a knock on the door and jump out of my seat to answer.

"Erwin!", I hug him tightly, Erwin gives me a tight hug back and rustles my hair, "How's the L/N family?", he smiles entering the house.

"Geez Erwin it's almost night and you've arrived, but luckily just in time we have almost had dinner without you", my mother says pouring water into our glasses.

I take my seat next to Levi while Erwin sits on my other side next to Jake.

"Erwin you're always so formal at the Survey Corps I can't even call you uncle there without someone giving me a weird look", I say taking a bite out of steak, Erwin smiles again and says, "They must look at you that way because we aren't related by blood but I am happy to call you my neice", he chuckles.

Levi gives my father across the table a death glare, I shrug it off but what caught me by suprise is when my father turns his attention to me.

"Y/N, I wanted to say... I'm sorry for sending you away, I was foolish and afraid, being a captain back in my day scared me when I faced titans, the thought of you being one haunted me because I was scared you might accept being one but from what I heard you've grown strong and I'm so sorry you lost Annie... I don't know how to make it up to you but all I can offer now is my apology", tears drop from his face.

I blush of embarrassment crept on my face, yes I felt sorry for dad but he was crying at the table, I wave my hands frantically to assure him its alright.

"D-dad! It's okay you don't have to give me anything your apology is enough!", I stutter, I put hands under the table and put my head down my face as red as a tomato.

I feel a hand take mine under the table, I look at Levi but he continues eating with a fork like its nothing.

I smile at him and continue eating as well before my mother speaks up lensing across the table with a smug look, "So~ Y/N dear~ do you have something you like to confess to humanity's strongest~?", she teases.

I drop my fork on the plate, "M-Mum!", Levi turns his usual cold glare to me and asks, "Mrs Lily did Y/N get in trouble?", Erwin giggles silently to himself as if he knows where my mother is going.

"Oh my heavens no! I'm just asking my daughter is there any feelings she'd like to confess since we are all here like how she has a cru-",

"LIIIIKE HOW I WAS THINKING LEVI SHOULD BE APART OF OUR FAMILY MUM!", I yell over the top of her, mum froze in her position confused before she processed what I said through the yelling.

"Oh of course! Levi you are always welcome here as apart of our family if there is any need or trouble please come to us", she gives a kind smile.

I breathe a sigh of relief.

~(Levi's POV) Bedtime~
I lay in bed next to Jake, he kept asking questions tossing and turning, snoring loudly. I couldn't take it.

I get up and walk down the hallway to Y/N's room and knock, I hear her voice say "Come in".

I enter and find her sitting up in bed with her night light on waiting for me.

"Is there something you need Levi?", she asks yawning.

I nod and whisper angrily, "Your brother is making it hard for me too sleep with his snoring and tossing", she rubs her eyes and asks, "Why did you come here?".

"If it isn't obvious I've come to sleep with you hoping you don't snore", I growl making her giggle.

"Alright, get in bed", she lays on her side, I approach the bed and climb in, "How do you even sleep on such a bouncy bed?", I say as soon as I feel it go up and down when I lay on it.

"It makes a good trampoline in the morning to jump off", she says snuggling to her pillow, I sigh and say, "Don't do that you'll ruin the springs".

She doesn't even answer she's already in such a sleepy state, I don't know what's persuading me to do so but I bring myself closer so I'm pressing against her back and wrap my arm around her protectively.

I can see a small smile appear on her lips while her eyes see closed, I can't help but smile as well and nuzzle myself into her neck getting comfortable.

~Middle of the Night~
Y/N shuffles murmuring in her sleep, "Y/N?", I whisper to see if she's still awake after she woke me up from her moving.

She has a pained look on her face and the words I caught left her mouth is, "Annie... Titans...", her body language tell me she is scared.

I wrap my arm tighter around her and lean over to kiss her forehead while with my other hand I took hers and held it tightly.

"Y/N... I'm here", I whisper in her ear, she turns over so her body is facing me and she hugs me hiding her face in my chest.

"Levi... I need you... I...", I shush her gently and bury my head in her neck to comfort her.

I kiss her head one more time before falling asleep beside her.
