Chapter 22

Annie and I practise combat on the training grounds, it is the day of the new cadets of the future Military, Survey, Garrison, and so on.

Annie didn't want me to join the survey corps, she tried everything in her power to stop me, when I disagreed with her she joined the Military for a while.

Annie told me that I should keep my skills on the down low and remain humanity's weakest.

Humanity's Weakest is the nick name I was given by my brother when I was small by being clumsy all the time, he spread it around town and eventually the entire three walls thinking it was a huge joke since there was a Humanity's Strongest...

But this was a time where I accepted being the weakest for an unknown reason of Annie's, it is true I haven't seen a titan, but what I didn't know is why I had to keep my real strength a secret.

I made myself seem weak but in truth I passed the exams, there is a secret file of my true strengths that Annie has stolen from Erwin...

I didnt know Reiner or Bertholt that well but I have seen them stare at me alot...

Today a group of cadets just left on a mission without me since I'm 'Humanity's Weakest'.

A few other trainee cadets stayed back to do chores with me while the others are gathering information on titans.

Marco is out of breath after running and clasps my hands, "Y/N! Finally I can speak to you, somethings up!", I cock my head in confusion, Marco coughs and says, "The last fight me and the others had with titans! Reiner and Bertholt said something!", he looks stressed.

"Calm down Marco, what did they say?", I ask, Marco looks over my shoulder and with speed throws me into an alley with him, "Marc-", I am cut off by his hand covering my mouth.

"I'm so sorry Y/N, but I think Annie has something to do with it too", his face is so close, "What did they say?", I ask muffled.

Marco takes a few breaths and says, "Reiner and Bertholt said something about shifting into titans themselves and breaking the walls, they said something about Annie being apart of their team and I'm scared it will affect you too!", he whispers frantically.

I'm too shocked to speak but I manage to nod in understanding, then Annie grabs Marco by the collar of his shirt throwing him out of the alley, I gasp with worry for Marco.

Annie puts an arm around my shoulders and says, "Marco go tell little tales somewhere else", I pull on Annie's sleeve and say, "Are you planning something that will get humanity killed?", I stare at her scared.

Annie's arm around me grows tight, "I would never kill humanity...", she trails off, I feel tears build up in fear, "There's a reason why I'm telling you to keep your strength a secret come, let's have a talk", Annie says now taking my hand and leading me out the alleyway, pass Marco.

Let's just say... There was another titan attack that day and Marco was needed... He 'died' on that mission...

Flashes blur my sight, the crystal... Annie... And a certain place within the walls...

"Y/N... Control yourself!", a familiar voice shouts again, bright light fills my vision breaking me from concertration and my eyes open to the sunlight...
