Chapter 5: Weekend plans

Nagisa's POV

I woke up around 9:30 in the morning, having stayed up rather late, it was a pretty good sleep. The sky had cleared up and looked quite pleasant outdoors. Kayano had been up for a while now, and actually had made breakfast for the two of us. She turned a little red when she saw me for the first time this morning, especially with my hair down.

She was wearing the set of clothes I had prepared the night before, and looked good in them too. Does that mean Kayano looks good in anything, or is it that I'm more of a girl than I care to admit. Whatever, at least Karma and Nakamura aren't here to decide for me.

"Morning Nagisa! Want some rice omelettes I made?" Kayano asked with a big smile on her face.

"Oh, I would love some Kayano!" I replied.

We sat down and enjoyed Kayano's meal. She was a pretty impressive cook herself, I guess it helped that she lived on her own.

"Kayano you seem to be in a really great mood, get a text from the guy you like?" I say with an evil Karma face.

"Oh... well no I didn't, I'm just happy to se you enjoying something I prepared!"

I leaned across the relatively short table and patted her head. "Thank you very much for this Kayano. Though you didn't have to go through the trouble of making this, Kayano, I'll do the dishes to make up for it." I said.

"Don't worry about a thing, you took great care of me yesterday, and let me stay over here too, it's the least I can do." Kayano replied.

"It looks good outside now, after this we can head to your place if you want." I said as we finished breakfast.

"Oh that reminds me, Nagisa, do you want to do something today, like just us, it's Saturday, so we can take some time off." Kayano said while looking a tad bit excited. She seemed to have a good idea of the day so I thought it would be a good idea.

"Sure, that sounds like fun!" I exclaimed.

"Great, then I'll pack the clothes you loaned me so I can wash them when I get home, and we will head out in 15?" Kayano said, relieved I accepted her offer.

"I'll go shower real fast and we'll go then!" I said heading to my room, while Kayano started to clean the kitchen while I did so.

This could be a good day I thought to myself. What could she be planning though? It probably won't be the beach, as that's something the class will be doing Monday for a marine biology lesson. Though there is a new park that opened up last week, maybe she knows about that? Whatever it is, it's with Kayano, and that's all that matters.

Kayano's POV

I had done a little research this morning, as to fun things we could do within a few kilometers. A park opened about a week ago, and I thought walking to my home through that area was a grand idea.

My heart sped up a bit. Based on the events that had happened last night, she was both more stressed and relieved about what happened. Now my time with Nagisa was going to end later today, before school resumes, so I wanted to make the most of it.

Nagisa was all ready to go, my backpack contained my school materials and the clothes Nagisa let me wear for the time being.

"Let's go now!" We both said. We got to the park entrance after walking for about 10 minutes. It was lovely there, everything looked so perfect, and seeing everyone else so happy made my day. More importantly, Nagisa looked like he was having a great time too. And that is all that mattered right now.

After a bit more walking I got pretty tired, there was a nice open bench though, so we decided to rest for a bit.

We hadn't talked too much thus far. But his presence alone made it all the better. It was almost like he was constantly releasing this vibe of joy. We didn't need to say anything, knowing he's at my side is enough.

"Hey Nagisa..." I muttered, "thanks for everything you've done for me recently, someday I'll have to return the favor." I managed to sneak a smile at the end of that sentence.

"Of course, and so long as my mom is ok with it, you can come over anytime!" Nagisa responded.

Nagisa made me so happy, it's why I felt the way I did last night. We get up to finish the walk home, we arrive and Nagisa follows me to my door.

"Thanks for everything Nagisa, I'll see you on Monday!" I said with a bit of sadness that our day was already over.

"Thank you Kayano, you were very kind to me for these last two days." Nagisa said, as he turned around to head to the street to walk home.

I closed the door, headed to my room, and just lied down with the biggest smile in the world. I stared at the ceiling, then turned to the other half of my bed, pretending Nagisa was lying down next to me, staring into my eyes. I reached over to squeeze my pillow, imagining Nagisa was hugging me back.

This was all so perfect. My heart was beating much faster when Nagisa was in my head. These overwhelming emotions are taking control of me, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

"I love you Nagisa, thanks for being my best friend". After a few seconds, I realized what I had said. "I-I love him..."

Though nobody was around, I still buried myself in my covers out of sheer embarrassment. What was I thinking!? Is this really how I feel? Does he know? Does he feel the same?

After a few minutes of thinking of seemingly every possible emotion Nagisa and I could be feeling I finally calmed down. I was accepting how I felt, and what Nagisa may be thinking to himself.

"He he... I love him..."

Nagisa's POV

The walk home wasn't as long as I thought it would be, after all, the park was a detour, so it took longer on the way to Kayano's place. But that's fine, more time with Kayano is better.

I get home around noon, have some lunch, and sit back, remembering what had happened last night, as I wanted to share with Korosensei the results. I decided to finish my remaining homework and study before relaxing for the remaining weekend.

We were going to the beach for class tomorrow, so we got to wear things different than our uniform. It was a day the entire class was looking forward to and even Korosensei was looking forward to the event. Though Mr. Karasuma showed little interest, as usual.

I was looking forward to this, the last time we had a beach day was when half the class got poisoned. Surely Korosensei will give us some fun time while we're there. Perhaps a game as part of the lesson.

Whatever the case may be, it's fun with Kayano, Karma, Sugino, and Okuda. Nothing can REALLY go wrong this time around.

Unless it rains.
