Chapter 40: The Shiota's

Nagisa's POV

Just short of a year after the proposal, Akari and I scheduled our wedding to take place. Today was that day. I've been building up confidence for today for weeks now. Now I'm just getting ready for the big moment with my guy friends from junior high.

"Is everything looking well?" I say with a worried tone.

"Nagisa, we've gone over things a hundred actual times, you look as good as you possibly can. If you want we can try putting you in Akari's dress..." Karma says with a devil face.

"Ha ha very funny..." I sarcastically say.

"Leave the man alone, Karma, it's his day after all." Isogai says as he enters the dressing room. "Karma is right about at least one thing, Akari is going to love this."

"Thanks guys, this means a lot that you'd do this for me."

"You're our friend Nagisa, we will do anything you need from us!" Sugino says.

"Sugino is right, you've made a wonderful impact on all our lives, and helping you here and now is the least I could do." Isogai adds.

"Nagisa... you've been my best friend through this all, being the one beside you in your greatest moment means the world to me. I have you to thank for how much better my life turned out, I'll do anything for you man." Karma says.

"You chose the right guys for today, Nagisa!" Hiroto cheers.

"I sure did. Another bonus, you can pick us four for your big day with Okano!" I say, putting my best Evil Karma face on.

"Hey hey hey, let's not get carried away Nagisa, we're just dating, that's all." He says, more embarrassed than he probably realized.

"Yeah, how HAS that been going for you Hiroto?" Karma asks.

"Uhhh... hey Nagisa how long is it until we need to get moving!?" Hiroto says, changing the subject as quickly as possible.

"Actually guys he has a point, we need to get a move on soon." Sugino says, pointing to his watch.

"Yep, guess this'll have to wait until later." Isogai says.

"I'll be thinking about this for the WHOLE reception, Hiroto..." Karma taunts.

I couldn't help but laugh a little. I was about to go have the best day of my life, and there were so many people cheering me on. The five of us got into a group hug, careful to not mess up my looks. We all laughed one last time together, before I had to go out there and become who I was destined to be.

After the proposal Akari and I went home for the night. We went to bed soon after that, there wasn't much to be said outside of that. Akari had already said the greatest yes a man can hear. We spent a chuck of the weekend planning things out.

We each invited some people from high school and university, along with family. But the most important people were those from Class 3-E. We didn't know how many people would be able to make it, maybe someone like Itona would not be interested in something like this.

"Where should we hold the wedding?" Akari asks.

I thought about it for a while. Karma and Rio had a great idea about just using space in a field, but I wanted to do something that was meaningful to everyone. Then it came to me, the only choice of where to go.

"We should have it at the Class 3-E campus! There's a decent amount of space out front, and almost everyone already knows how to get there. It's also where we first met..."
