Chapter 36: Coming home

Akari's POV

I woke up well before my alarm was set to go off. My brain couldn't think straight about sleep, only that today was my last day before I go back to Japan. My excitement to return home... to see Nagisa.

I still get a little embarrassed thinking about my relationship with Nagisa. I mean we're moving in together now, so why should I feel this way? Perhaps it's because I know where our relationship has the potential to go.

I could spend the rest of my life with Nagisa if I'm honest with myself, but I'm afraid something would go wrong. What if work permanently moves me out of Japan? I truly love acting, but do I love Nagisa more.

Whatever, this isn't the case so I won't think about it, all it's doing is depressing me. I had one last day of work in the states before I was safe to go back home. I'll see Nagisa and help him move in.

I was stationed in a hotel a few blocks from my set, so I would walk there. It helped me wake up when I had to get to work early. Today was one of those days, I quickly made a coffee and headed out. Jessica met me at the gate leading in.

"Morning Miss Yukimura! Excited for the last day here?" Jessica said with a surprising amount of energy for 6:45 in the morning.

"I'm looking forward to it, I'll be seeing my boyfriend when I return to Japan, too. That'll make me motivated to have a productive day."

"I'm happy to hear this. It's a long flight, but by the time you get home it'll probably be dinner time."

You make a good point Jessica, we are going to be moving in together tomorrow, so we might just get takeout at my place."

We each smiled and entered into the set. It was some decent lighting, so there wasn't much waiting we had to do. I met up with my friend Amy, who I met through work.

"Morning Amy, how are you this morning?"

"Hey Akari, I'm a bit tired but I'm looking forward to the day. You're going home today, correct?"

"Right you are, I'm glad we made it to the week early leave, I'm helping my boyfriend move in."

"What was his name again... Nagisa?" Amy said, sipping her morning coffee.

"Yep, it's been a few months so it's nice I'll see him sooner."

"How long have you two been dating?"

"I think it's been 4 months or so."

Amy looked a bit shocked, "that's quite the speedy relationship you've got."

"Oh! Well, Nagisa and I have known each other for a very long time, and we were best friends in middle school. Our friendship recently turned romantic is all..."

Amy's face transitioned from a surprised look to a bit of a smug grin.

"So then, you've known each other for a long time... you think you'll get married?"

"Uhhh... w-well..." I was really embarrassed at the thought, "I don't know..."

Amy slaps my back and starts laughing. "I'm kidding Akari! That's private stuff, you don't have to tell me something you're uncomfortable with. Anyway, we should go get ready for makeup."

"Y-yeah, let's go do that."

The say proceeded on as normally, not too many slip ups in terms of shots. Talking with the others between scenes was fun. I had just finished the last line to a scene before the director was shouting to the crew around us.

"Annnnnnd CUT!" I heard.

"Everyone break for lunch, we will beat up at 1:00 for the last 2 hours of the day."
