Chapter 22: Live the moment

Akari's POV

I woke up at probably 8:45 in the morning. Nagisa was still next to me, wearing only his boxers. I too was also only in my underwear. I gave him a quick kiss on the lips before getting up to get dressed for the day. I thought it would be nice if I started making breakfast for the two of us. So I walked to the kitchen to see what we had available.

Looking in the refrigerator, we had good ingredients for each of us to have an omelette. Nagisa made dinner last night, it's only fair that I did this. While making this Nagisa walks out from my— or... our room. He had put on the clothes he was wearing to bed last night, and came over to me in the kitchen.

After a quick kiss he asked if there was anything he could do to help. I just told him to take his things to my room, we will just share the bed for the duration of the trip. As he went to do that I finished breakfast and set it out on the table for us.

Nagisa came back in wearing his daytime clothes, then we sat down to enjoy breakfast together. I wanted to know if Nagisa had anything planned for today, and sure enough he did.

"So, everyday the camp staff will do nature tours through part of the forest around us. They say there's a special activity they'll do at the end of it. I was thinking we could go on the 2:30 tour, sound good?" Nagisa said.

A nature tour huh? That's what Kurahashi does for a living now. She really loves her job, so I can only assume that it would be a good experience to go do one with Nagisa.

"Sure, I mean if Kurahashi loves it I'm sure we will too!" I respond.

Nagisa smiled back, satisfied that his idea is a good one. He gave me a short kiss before saying we can just relax for the next couple hours. It was nice, and I looked forward to the tour later.

Nagisa's POV

Akari and I talked a bit, in between doing things like reading and watching tv. The talks went rather well, I considered asking her if she wanted to do Story Time, but I wanted to save that for a later date. For now we just enjoy each other's company.

But time went by rather quickly, and before we knew it we were getting ready to walk down to the lodge, where we were to meet up with our tour guide. It wasn't too much of a walk, maybe 5 minutes.

The way that Camp Hinata was structured was quite convenient. There were a few cabin regions, all of which were connected to a large gravel road. We were at the furthest one away but it wasn't too bad, the scenery on the way was awesome.

The lodge itself was very big. It overlooked a smallish sandy area leading to the lake. Large enough for a decent drive-in movie lot. That was an event that happened after we would go back home though.

There were roughly 2 flights of wooden stairs we would have to go up to enter the lodge itself. Inside was a mess hall and small attractions and maps of the area around us. It was pretty cozy in there, but we were told to meet outside at the base of one of the hiking paths.

We got there to meet a few other families and their kids. I'd guess there were 15 of us in total, including the guide herself. At about 2:35 we were instructed to follow along, we were starting the tour.

Akari's POV

The area around us was great, the trees were probably over 50 meters tall. Nagisa held my hand for some of it, including the areas that required some precise stepping. Occasionally we would walk on rocks barely above a creek, in order to not get wet. Other times it would be wide areas made of dirt or gravel.

Initially I also had some of the kids look at me strangely. I think they might have recognized me. I did do a small part in a popular superhero film, right as I was getting my acting career moving, so that's probably where they saw me. But whenever those thoughts went through my head, I would think about the new film I would be in. Outside of Japan for months.
