Nagisa's POV
The drive was probably 15 minutes, so we started some small talk, how are day had gone, what some work highlights were, those kinds of things.
That alone was quite fun, so the rest of the night was sure to bring wonders. I hope Akari felt the same, she did have that great smile on, always a good sign.
We get to the restaurant right on time for my reservation. It looked packed inside, probably sat over 100, but that's what a good restaurant looks like on a Saturday evening. The woman checking reservations was currently unoccupied, so Akari and I walked in and asked about our table.
"Hello miss, I have a reservation for 2, the name is Nagisa Shiota." I say, trying to maintain good posture.
"Ah yes, we will have your table ready in just a moment, please wait here for a minute or so." she replied, punching in some numbers to her touch screen.
Akari and I move out of the way so that others can check in as well. There was a decent amount of room, and some were staring at the two of us.
Figures, considering I'm standing with a rising celebrity. I was getting a bit embarrassed, but I can't let Akari know that.
After a minute or so of waiting, we sat down at our table, scanning the menu for something we'd like to have.
"Would you like some wine with dinner, Akari?" I ask, knowing the cost was worth making a good experience.
"Isn't that a bit expensive, Nagisa?" She replies, concerned for the final bill. "I don't want you to go overboard, I can split the check if you'd like."
"That's very kind of you, but it's my treat, I don't mind one bit."
Akari looked a bit uneasy, she clearly felt bad that I was paying for everything, despite me saying it would be fine with me.
"Akari, if I wasn't fully prepared to spend whatever I needed to in order to make this night perfect, then I wouldn't have made the offer in the first place." I say, grasping Akari's hand to try to comfort her.
She blushed a bit, but nodded to signify that it was ok with her.
We each had a glass of Chardonnay, and ordered our food. Akari requested the salmon sushi, while I decided on the wild tuna rolls.
We expected a 30 minute wait or so, so we began to talk.
"So I guess I'll start us off, how have you been these last few years?" I say, delighted by how the night has gone thus far.
"I've been doing just fine thanks, my acting career is really taking off at this point!" Akari said, excited to hear my interest in her life.
We each went on and on about how our jobs have been to us, how we've lived out Korosensei's teachings, who each of us had encountered that changed something in us. Tonight was absolutely perfect.
Then, Akari dropped the question I was hoping she wouldn't ask.
"So Nagisa, how's your romantic life been?" Akari said, with a slightly evil look on her face, as if Nakamura or Karma had just asked that question.
"Oh... well... I haven't really been in any relationships before, so nothing really to say..." I told her, getting very red in the process.
I quickly gather myself, to turn the tables on her.
"I could ask the same about you... who's your lucky guy?" I say, mimicking the face she had given me.
Akari was quite flustered, but was able to answer me with similar fashion, "Oh... well... I, too, haven't been in any romantic relationship..."
