Chapter 27: True love

Nagisa's POV

Finals were over, and I wasn't grading anything for the rest of the year, but I still want the students to learn something. Instead of going through the teaching process in a subject, I'll always take time to teach life skills. I'm not too old compared to other members of the faculty, but Korosensei has given us bottomless amounts of his wisdom, and it's my job to pass that on.

Tuesday is considered the worst day of the week, even I have to admit they aren't my favorite, but today the students all came in with big smiles on their faces. I saw lots of pride in them, and they earned it. Today they were ready to learn.

We discussed extra things, we went around talking about plans for the break, which university they wanted to go to. We even played a game a former teacher of mine taught me called 'Boundary Breakers'. They had never done it though, so it would be a good surprise.

"Ok class, everyone get in a circle up front and sit down."

We sit in this deformed oval shape, but it was the best we could do considering the geometry of the classroom after pushing some desks back. We were pretty snug together, but it was worth it for how fun this game could be.

"Ok everyone, here's how we play Boundary Breakers. We spin a container in the middle of us, and whoever it rolls to draws a piece of paper from it. They'll read it to the group, then we all go around and answer."

"Uhmmm, Nagisa-Sensei, we don't have a container like that." Kyasurin said.

I just smiled at her before reaching into the closet behind my desk to pull out a fairly large Tupperware container packed with slips of paper.

"Are sure about that Kyasurin?" I say with a smug look on my face. The class laughed a bit before I sat down with them to join the game.

"Would anyone like to start?" I say, looking for volunteers.

"I-I'll go..." Kano said from across me. I gave her the container to read a question. She drew from it and softly read: "what is something someone said to you that meant a lot to you?"

Kano thought for a bit, but then looked like a light bulb had gone off above her head. "I was told that I could do anything I wanted with hard work, and the only limitations I have are those I set myself. It was Nagisa-Sensei who said that."

I just sat there and smiled as more students answered as we went across in a clockwise fashion. When we got to me I already knew the thing that meant the most to me, "If I wasn't prepared to adapt as needs demanded, I wouldn't have become a teacher in the first place. My junior high teacher told me this."

The students looked at me as if I were Korosensei himself. It makes sense though, several things that I've taught my students were direct life lessons and teachings that Korosensei gave me years ago. Yui finished us off as we made our way back around to Kano. At this point 6 students said their quote was something I said.

"Thank you everyone who said that I was the one who said your quote, I'm happy my advice stayed with you. This goes for everyone too, you all have a bottomless amount of potential to succeed in this world." I said, very happy my words stayed with them.

Kano spun the container and it rolled over to Chisaki this time. She was one of the more popular girls in the school, and she was a confident public speaker. She also came in 43rd overall on finals, so she was quite smart, too.

Chisaki opened it and read off the paper she had, "Who was an inspiration for something you did or currently do?" Chisaki quickly had her answer, much faster than Kano did. "I'd have to say my parents, they sent me to a volleyball camp, where I met a few of my current best friends."
