Excited, no no happy? Nah Ecstatic. Yeah definitely I Thought to myself sitting in the library.
'Bitch are you listening to me?" Stephanie said, pulling out of my thought process.
"Yeah sorry, so he bumped into you and now you're going to a party with him on Friday night." I said repeating what I thought she said.
"Girl no. okay yes but we're going to hang out tonight and you need to help me figure out what to wear." she said typing away on her laptop.
"Are y'all going to some place fancy or?"
"No just around the campus." she said looking at me.
"Oh okay then keep it simple, shorts and tank top." I said opening up her bag of chips.
"What's going on with you?" she said leaning back looking at me. "You keep zoning out."
"Sorry I'm just, I don't know I'm happy and I'm trying to contain it." I said smiling at her.
"You know it's not a date right?" she said, referring to me going to Mrs. Garcia's orientation tonight.
"Don't be so negative, I'm just really looking forward to it."
"Don't get too close Gabby." she said, shaking her head. "You don't know her and she's your professor so whatever you're thinking just drop it." she said, kicking me under the table.
"I'm not thinking about anything. Hey you told me to get myself involved in school activities so.." I shrugged at her facial expressions.
"Okay I meant exercises and doing sports, not in between your professor's thighs" she said laughing at me. But in all honesty I knew she was right. "By the way I need to borrow your car if it's no problem." she said. Mrs. Garcia would never ever in a million go for me. She was married and successful in life. I was so mad at her even when I got to class that day and yet the moment I saw her eyes, all my anger just disappeared. I couldn't stay mad at her once I saw her. She looked so sad when I first walked in and I ignored it. The whole class period she was having a hard time and I knew it had something to do with me the way she kept stealing glances at me, but I kept myself focused on Jennifer whom I had just met. Mrs. Garcia kept biting her lip and I've noticed it's something she did when she got nervous, she'd bite her lip and then take a deep breath and god it was the sexiest thing I've ever seen in a woman. After our talk I felt a lot more comfortable around her, she made me so nervous but I couldn't control my excitement over tonight. I looked at the time and noticed it was almost 7, the orientation starts at 7:30, so I handed my keys and said bye to Stephanie and wished her luck with her date that she claimed wasn't a date.
20 minutes later I was outside waiting for the school shuttle to take me all the way across campus to see what this orientation was about. I got on the shuttle and sat down.
"Hey you're in my class right?" I looked up and saw this boy staring at me, I recognized him, he was the one who sits in front of Mrs. Garcia.
"Yeah, Gabriella." I said introducing myself.
"Nico." he said smiling at me. "I didn't think you'd be interested in things like this." he said and I looked at him waiting for him to explain.
"I mean like this kind of Orientation ,you don't seem like a nerd." he said smiling. He had a really nice smile.
"Oh, I actually have no idea what it's for, this was a last minute thing." I said laughing at his shyness.
"It's basically a computer programming thing," he said.
