Gabby's POV:
"I like this one better...it's not showing too much is it?" Stephanie asked me as she looked at herself in the mirror. I shrugged and didn't answer. She had a date and refused to tell me who it was with so I decided to not help.
"Gabby, is it showing too much?" she asked again this time looking at me. I smiled and shrugged again.
"You're being mean." she said looking for something else to change into.
"I'm being mean? You're my best friend Steph and you refuse to tell me who this guy is." I pouted looking at her.
"If I tell you...you can't comment, laugh, or make any facial expression." I cocked my head to the side and nodded.
"Fine." she pulled up her chair and sat in front of me. "I'm going out with Kenna." I looked at her and nodded.
"That's it?" she asked, and I nodded again.
"Okay you can comment now..."
"I really have nothing to say. I thought it was someone else. I kinda already thought you and Kenna were seeing each other." I shrugged and blinked at her.
"If you already know why you didn't come to me?"
"Really? This is how you want to play this?"
"Fine, I'm sorry for not telling you. I thought it would be weird. You're with Reagan, and I thought..."
"It's okay I'm not mad." I got up and picked out a dress for her. "Here wear this one. She'll like it, trust me." I smiled and she returned it.
"Have you ever regretted being with Reagan?" she asked randomly.
"No."
"Even when the school found out?"
"Honestly I was scared, but more for her. I've been in love with Reagan since I first met her; even when I didn't know it. No matter what happened my biggest fear has always been not having her in my life anymore. Why do you ask?"
"Just curious. You were never the relationship type. She came around, and it's like you're a different person. Like my best friend is actually married now, how crazy is that?"
"I am a different person around her. She makes me soft. I hate it sometimes, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. She makes me happy. She gave me two beautiful sons. I have everything I could ever want."
"I'm really proud of you. You've grown a lot, and you're so good with my godsons. It's a beautiful thing. You managed to top working for my brother and you're making your own future. I love it."
"Aww I love you too Steph. Now come on let's get you ready for your date with Kenna. Take her to your dorm tonight instead I'm trying to sleep." she laughed and we continued talking about nothing until she left to go pick up Kenna. It was now 7PM, and I was making my way to my car in the school parking lot when I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned around and was faced with an old man looking at me weirdly.
"Can I help you?" I asked looking around to see if anyone else was here.
"Sorry, are you Gabriella?" he asked nervously and I took a step back.
"Who wants to know?" I questioned feeling uncomfortable.
"I'm sorry, my name is James. I've been looking for you for quite some time now." he smiled and took a step back.
"Okay.... what do you want?"
"I knew your dad back in college. Listen do you want to go get a coffee or something?"
"I can't. Sorry but I have to go." I tried to keep walking, but he was now standing right in front of me and refused to move.
"I'm not trying to scare you honey, but I'm afraid you don't have a choice but to come with me."
"Look man, I don't even know you." I tried moving but then I felt someone behind me place a rag over my head and covered my screams.
"But I know all about you." I heard him say before I was dragged inside of a car. Not again. I sighed. I tried to move but they tied both my hands to my ankle, and I couldn't see anything. The car ride lasted about 20 minutes before it came to a stop. I tried screaming, but it was no help. I felt the car stop and the door was opened. Somebody picked me up and I could hear the old guy humming as he continued carrying me.
"Where do you want her?" he asked and I didn't hear anyone respond. All I felt was him aggressively dropping me on the ground.
He pulled the rag off my face, and I tried to take in my surroundings. The room was smaller than I thought it would be. There wasn't anything in it at all. I looked around at the four yellow painted walls before looking at the man in front of me.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"Nothing. Just helping a friend out." he shrugged and kept humming. I continued looking at him trying to read him but it was hard. He was clean and had on nice clothes. He had a fresh haircut and looked like he was in his late 30s.
"This is kidnapping. You can get arrested for this and you want me to believe you're just helping a friend out?" I questioned and he smiled at me.
"You talk too much Princess." he then got up and left the room leaving me alone in there. This would be the second time I've been kidnapped and this time I didn't even know why. If I wasn't home soon, Reagan would start freaking out. They took my phone and my bag. I took a deep breath and tried to sit as comfortable as I could as I pondered all the reasons someone might want to hurt me.
Thank you so much for reading guys!! sadly the book is coming to an end soon! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I do!
