I checked my phone and realized it was now 3 in the afternoon and Stephanie still hasn't shown up to return my car keys. She borrowed it last night and was supposed to bring it back by noon because I had to go meet Toby and some other people. I got up and made my way across campus. I walked in her building and knocked on her door that was on the second floor. I heard someone inside and I knew she was here so I knocked again.

"Stephanie open the door. I'm late." I said getting annoyed. She's practically been ignoring me for the past three weeks to hang out with her new boytoy.

"Hold on, shit." I heard her say behind the door. She opened the door and popped her head out looking at me, her hair was messy and she had a huge hickey on the side of her neck. I looked at her up and down and arched my eyebrows.

"I'm so sorry best friend..." she said out of breath.

"Whatever man, just hand me my keys." I said angrily and she looked on the ground.

"Are you mad at me?" She asked now looking at me.

"I'm annoyed Steph, you've been ignoring me for the past few weeks and I only see you when you're taking my car and you can't even return it on time." I said waiting for her.

'Shit. I've been a terrible friend, haven't I?" she asked apologetically but I wasn't in the mood to hear it.

"Just hand me my shit," I said. She looked at me and took a deep breath. "Come on in. there's someone you have to meet." she said stepping aside. I rolled my eyes at her and walked in. the moment I looked up there were two sea blue eyes looking at me. I looked at them and looked back at Stephanie, she stood there averting my gaze and I started laughing.

"Well damn." I said looking at him, he stood up and extended out his hand for me to shake. I grabbed it and looked at Steph.

"Hi, I'm Justin." he said sitting back down. I looked at Steph again.

"Justin huh..." I said with a smile on my face.

"Yeah." he answered smiling.

"So steph, this is Justin?" I asked knowing she was getting embarrassed. In all the years I've known Stephanie, she's never once dated a white boy before. She swore up and down that she would never because she had a specific type, and yet here was Justin.

"Hey why don't I come find you later." she said to him. He grabbed his bag and kissed her cheeks.

"Alright Babe." he walked out and I lost it. I spent about 5 minutes laughing before looking over at steph.

"Don't say it." she said, putting up her hand. I stared at her and said nothing.

"He's sweet, okay!" she said, defending herself.

"He's sweet?" I questioned. "After all these years and all your shit talk, all you have to say for yourself is that he's sweet?"

"I'm Sorry Gabby. I've been a terrible human being. I was a little embarrassed for you to meet him, plus I didn't think it was going to be anything serious." She said sitting at the edge of her bed.

"How'd you guys meet again?" I asked sitting next to her.

"In the dining hall, he grabbed the last banana muffin and I wanted it so I started flirting with him, and it turned out he's pretty funny. Sad shit is he didn't even offer me the damn muffin, I sat there and watched him eat it." she said laughing.

"So now that the big secret is out, are you done ignoring me?" I asked.

"Yes I promise, I know you're going through some shit too after what happened with Reagan, and I'm sorry I haven't been there for you" she said resting her head on my shoulder.
