"You're gonna be able to pick Dakota up right?"
"Yes for the third time." Chibs rolled his eyes and I smiled.
"I'm just checking."
"I've already told you I could."
"Okay, sorry." I laughed and he leaned against the countertop opposite me.
"Last night was fun."
"Mm." He grinned & I leant on him.
He laughed and I smiled, kissing his chest.
"Who's the sherif?"
"Who?" He asked, looking down at me and I sighed.
"The new lady sherif?"
"Oh Jaffrey? How would I know? I have meets with her every now and again but that's about it."
"I heard you've been spending a bit of time together with her."
"Oh god, is this your brother stirring you up?" He laughed and I frowned.
"What?"
"You're gonna have a go at me right now? I wasn't the one standing in the car park a few weeks ago perving on a guy I just met. All while your husband, brother & stepdad watched on? I think I'm higher than you with that."
"Oh as if I was perving on Tim."
"Mm Tim, first name basis are we?"
"Oh shut up, he's a friend. I don't meet up with him in secret."
"I don't know, you might."
I laughed and he grinned down at me.
"I'll kick this lady sheriff's ass if I have to."
"Mm I know."
"And then yours."
"You couldn't."
"Wanna bet?"
"Try me."
"The day will come when I have to do it & you'll wish I didn't." I whispered, patting him on the chest & leaving our apartment.
