Humanity's First Victory | Part 15

"Oi, you brats. What's going on here?" Levi asked, turning around to face the kids. However, nothing but a distant silence fell over the group as they gawked at Levi and I.

"Look, now isn't the time for sitting or questions. Trost is still infested with Titans and your friend doesn't look like has ODM gear to help fight. You two take him and scale up the wall. We'll take care of everything else." I reassured, breaking the moment of silence, as I directed my blade towards the top of the wall. 

"Understood. Thank you for saving us! We owe you our gratitude." The blonde soldier said as he threw his arms up into a salute, momentarily letting go of the other male soldier. I nodded, signaling for him to lower his salute. I turned back to Levi wanting to tell him that we should probably get going and help clear out the town, but as soon as I opened my mouth to say something, someone had interrupted me.

"Captain Levi!" Both Levi and I turned to look towards the sound of the voice and saw a silver haired woman, who had the Garrison symbol on her badge, fall down from the titan's figure and land next to us. As I saw her land I looked back over my shoulder at Levi who took a few steps towards me and was now standing right behind my shoulder. He nodded at the female soldier and she quickly threw up a salute before beginning to speak.

"Uh-I-umm--" The female soldier stuttered while speaking and I creased my brows while gazing at her fumble over her words, but before she could say anything more, the sounds of heavy footsteps seemed to grow louder from behind us and I turned around to see three titans quickly heading towards or way.

One 8 meter and two 14 meter titans.

"You two! Get your friend out of here. We'll hold the titans off." The silver female soldier seemed to quickly regain her composure, her words flowing naturally as she ordered the three rookies to evacuate. The three were quick to get on their feet while supporting the brown haired male, however, before they could do anything I quickly caught an alarmingly small detail in one of the three Titans. 

"No! Don't move!" I yelled back and swung my arm out toward the three who were about to take off toward the wall. The four of them seemed shocked at my interception. I didn't answer for a few seconds as I closely watched one of the titans that was acting unnaturally. It was an abnormal. After the small silence I finally replied, "There's an abnormal. We don't know if it will target them instead of us. With him handicapping you, there won't be much you can do to defend yourself when you're scaling up the wall."

I shot my glance back as the the three exchange looks and nodded.

"Understood." The black hair girl replied, giving me an understanding nod.

"Y/N, take the 14 meter one on the left. I'll take the other two." Levi ordered, wedging himself into the conversation as he told me his plan of action, "And you, stay here with them until the titans are cleared out and head up to the wall with them." Levi directed his last order towards the Garrison soldier with silver hair before taking off without another word--leaving the soldier confused. I quickly caught onto her confusion as she turned to me for help.

"Commander Pyxis will explain the circumstances later, but for now, I promise we'll clear this town out, so you need to make sure these three get to safety." I quickly state with a softer tone of voice. She stood shocked for a moment before she saluted gave me a reassuring nod.

"W-wait!" The brown hair boy yelled out as I turned around and was about to take off. I really shouldn't be wasting anymore time here, Levi needs me, but I couldn't help but turn around to face the three young soldiers again. This time, it was the brown-haired male talking.

"Yes?" I reply hastily, trying to sound the least bit decent.

"I-I—." The boy was stuttered. 

I could literally feel the seconds wasting time as he tried to find the right words and each passing second felt like a millennial to me as I was anxious to leave and rejoin Levi.
