"Let's get moving then." I ordered, slightly excited to fight alongside someone with such an strong aura.
I quickly jumped up, attaching my hooks onto the two rows of houses in front of and accelerated towards the Female Titan. As I moved through the houses and caught up with Annie, I spotted many other soldiers surrounding her body—most keeping their distance though. I heard Mikasa quickly catch up to me and I turned my attention to her.
"Mikasa! Take out her left ankle, I'll get the right!" I ordered, cocking my head towards Annie as we flew through the air.
"Understood!" Mikasa replied, lowering herself and accelerating towards Annie's feet. I let out a small breath as I also accelerated, leveling myself with her feet. With many soldiers moving near the rooftops, we quickly took the chance and moved in hastily.
As I grew closer to her right ankle, I swiftly brought my blades to the left side of my body, positioning myself to strike. However, as soon as I brought my blades down, my eyes widened as I saw a crystal like structure encase her ankles, blocking me off from slicing into then while also shattering my blades. A metallic ringing sound came emitted from the shattering and my eyes widened as I saw the pieces of my blade plummet down towards the ground. I grimaced as I quickly moved away, avoiding being crushed by her. As I lifted myself into the air, I saw her stumble, meaning Mikasa was able to get her hit in at least.
We continued trying to carve her out, piece by piece, however, we were losing many soldiers in the process. She mercilessly crushed them one by one and if Armin wasn't able to get through to Eren soon we would eventually run out of supplies and have to forfeit the battle.
"Annie!"
I turned my attention towards the familiar voice. My eyebrows furrowed as confusion struck my face when spotting Armin standing in the middle of the pathway further down the street. What was he doing here? Wasn't he supposed to be with Eren?
"If you don't kill me this time, you won't be able to make excuses like "I'll see if my bet pays off this time!" Armin snarked, cupping his hands over his mouth as he yelled. What was he doing and where was Eren? However, my thoughts were interrupted by the sound of hitching approach quickly from my left. I turn my head to see Jean, swiftly diving in, trying to slice through Annie's nape.
"Jean! Wait!" I yelled, extending my arm out, however, I was too late as Jean had already reached Annie's nape and attempted to get to her nape. To his dismay, Annie was quick on the draw. She quickly laid her hand above her nape and the same crystalized structure encased her hands, shattering Jean's blades. As soon as he noticed what Annie had done, he quickly drew himself away, avoiding her next attack.
"Armin, heichou, this way!" Jean yelled, sparing a quickly glance towards Armin who stood on the opposite side of the street. I turned to see Armin quickly racing towards Jean, he'd already made it more than halfway here, now I get it...Jean was simply doing that to draw Annie's attention away from Armin. Risky, but it paid off. I quickly got a running start and hopped off the roof, connecting my hooks and accelerating towards Jean. If Eren wasn't back on his feet yet, we still had one more alternative. We need to head towards Hange.
"Jean! Head towards Hange! We still have plan C!" I yelled, catching his attention. He turned back, a moment passing as his eyes grew a bit wide, however, he quickly broke from his trance and nodded.
"Hai!" He replied, quickly changing direction and turning into the next street that broke off towards the right. As he did, I quickly glanced back and saw Annie chasing us down, at a rapid pace as well. We carefully maneuvered, keeping a steady, but quick pace so she would be able to track us through the different turns and moves we made through the maze of buildings.
