Levi and I flew through the air as we navigated our way towards Farlan and Isabel, however, with our pursuers on our tails and trying to shoot us down from below, it wasn't making this any easier. Their aim was pretty precise and it was only getting harder to dodge as they where pushing us towards streets where the buildings were lower and ODM gear would be useless there against weapons like theirs. We needed to shake them off quickly.
My irritation rose as I heard another familiar hitching sound behind us. I look over my shoulder to see a group of military police. Two men and one woman. Whoever these pursuers were they were also working with the military police.
"Y/N, you know what to do." Levi's voice calm as he told me what to do. My trust for Levi grew over the months and now I could even say I trusted him with my life.
"Roger." I quickly retracted my hooks and shot them into another street that branched off to the left. As I turned I looked back to see the female soldier following me. I quickly sped up and the chase began. Finally, I could enjoy a simple chase without those bastards shooting me like pricks.
She was pretty skilled to say the least, and I'd never seen her before. She must've been new. I guess they were getting better at training their soldiers--about time too. These chases were starting to get boring.
A smirk stretched on my face as my confidence grew. I was no longer that weak girl who was afraid of Military Police. Over the months we had done various jobs that usually ended up with us evading many military personnel, but they were always too inexperienced to keep up with us.
Carefully puffing out some gas, I dove right into a small opening in one of the buildings. I've navigated my way through this millions of times and I quickly made my way through the dimly lit tunnel, dodging all the obstacles in my way as I heard her land at the entrance of the opening.
"You're too slow~" I taunted as I exited the tunnel and then resumed using the ODM gear again.
"Now then..." I whispered out as I turned back to look at the tunnel to see no one exit it yet. She would most likely not be able to keep up with me after exiting.
I knew by the time I exited that tunnel, I would be pretty much done with the chase, but I then heard the familiar sounds of hitching coming from my left. My eyes shot towards that direction to see the another one of the men from earlier. He has his legs positioned outwards to kick me as he flew at a pretty fast speed. Bracing myself, I held my breath as I lifted my arms and crossed them in front of my face. The force from the kick sent my body flying backwards and I grunted as my body crashed into the wall of a nearby building. I quickly latched into the wall behind me so I wouldn't fall of as my body crashed into it.
Let's say, I learned from last time.
I let out a small groan as I uncrossed my arms. They were trembling due to the force of his kick and I could barely feel my hands which were still gripping tightly onto the handles of my gear. However, before I could do anything else, a hook land next to my face to which my eyes quickly shot towards the source to see that same man already rushing towards me using the same attack. He didn't have his blades out meaning he probably needed me alive if I was right. I quickly bent my knees pushed myself off the side of the building as shot my hook towards another wall across the street and used it to evade his attack. I looked back as he landed on the building, then he continued after me.
With my gaze fixed behind me, I became ignorant of what was coming front of me. I groaned as I felt the body weight of someone as they shoved themselves into my side. It sent both us both off balance and we both began plummeting to ground. While I was still I air I turned to see that same woman from earlier.
