"Everyone, plug your ears." Levi then raised his hand as he held up a flare. My eyes widened and I quickly dropped my reins as I threw my hands over my ears while still clutching onto my blades. I watched how Levi then pulled the trigger and a large acoustic sound reverberated from flare. I slightly winced as it rang throughout my ears and made me a bit dizzy. The sound lingered for a bit before dying down and I finally took my hands off of my ears.

"An auditory blast?" Eren said as he took his hands off of his ears.

"What are your jobs? Do they involve getting overwhelmed by fickle emotions? That shouldn't be the case. Our squad's duty is to keep this brat from getting a single scratch on him. Even if it costs our lives." Levi lectured as he turned to face us. I let out a small sigh of relief as I heard Levi's reassuring words, "We'll continue to flee on horse. Got that?" Levi's voice softened a bit as he gave out his orders. Judging from his tone, I was positive he was also thinking about the different outcomes of his choices, however he decided to go with this one.

"Yes sir!" Petra quickly answered as her voice filled with a bit of relief.

"Flee, to where? Besides, it's already right on our tails again." Eren then gasped as he spotted more soldiers approach the Female Titan, "Again! Reinforcements! They'll get killed like the others if we don't help them!" Eren's cries began to grow louder from behind me, however, I knew better than to turn back again. We needed to continue looking forward, I couldn't help those soldiers back there no matter what I did. They were playing their part, like I was as well.

"Eren, face forward!" Gunter ordered, urgency and frustration seeping into his vocals as he tried to directed his attention towards Eren.

"Gunter?!" Eren yelled back in disbelief as he shot his gaze towards him. As Eren continued looking back, he began to slow down, his focus drifting away from riding at top speed as fear overwhelmed him as he watched tens of soldiers be slaughtered by the Female Titan.

"Don't slow down! Keep moving at full speed!" Eld instructed, trying to redirect Eren onto the right track.

"Eld..." Eren replied, the breathiness in his voice showcasing disbelief towards Eld's orders was present again as he turned to face him. "Why?! If we, the Levi squad and we don't stop it, then who will?!" Eren whined out, still keeping his eyes glued to the Female Titan following behind us. Suddenly, another loud crash follow from behind us. Another soldier had most likely died.

"Another soldier died! We could've been able to save him!" Eren wailed out as he turned to see the Female Titan ruthlessly slaughter the tens of soldiers that arrived as reinforcements, "There someone still fighting! If we go now, we can make it!"

"Eren! Face forward and keep moving!" Petra joined in as she yelled towards Eren as well. Her voice was filled with uncertainty and fear as she redirected the same orders that Gunter had said earlier.

"Are you telling me to turn a blind eye?! You want me to leave a comrade to die!" Eren's voice riled with anger as he shouted back towards Petra.

"Yes, that's right! Obey Levi-heichou's orders!" Petra coldly replied, a pained expression masked over her face as she hated to admit the cruel reality of what she had to do. However, to no avail, Eren only sunk deeper into denial as he heard Petra's claims, disproving of what was happening.

"I don't see why we have to abandon him! I don't get why you won't explain either! Tell me why!" Eren pleaded as he still remained turned around and fearfully watched as the Female Titan was closing in on our trail. I couldn't look back, no, I didn't want to. I knew what I had to do, and it was to continue fleeing on horseback, but Eren's constant yelling made it hard to correctly follow those orders. We all wanted to help those soldiers, but with the current situation, all we could do is hope that their sacrifices would benefit us and lead us towards victory.
