Chapter Twenty-One
CrazyMy mother is incredibly busy with the upcoming event. She's been busy for a month since she's very hands on to the preparations.
It's a charity fund-raising event.
I try to help my mom in every way I can. If I wasn't busy with my upcoming preliminary exam, I would have helped her full time pero laging nakatapat ang exams namin a few days bago ang anniversary kaya hindi ako makatulong.
"What's wrong with the final menu that we decided on?" hindi pa ako tuluyang nakakababa ay narinig ko agad si Mommy na may kausap.
She gave me a tired smile and I tried to smile for her even though I wanted to sigh.
"I'm going to visit the restaurant before lunch and maybe we could discuss about this better when we're face to face." umupo na ako sa usual seat ko at tahimik na naglagay ng bacon at sunny side up sa plato ko.
"Okay. Bye." my mother dropped her phone on the table and sighed. She leaned back on her chair, rubbing her temples.
"Tell me again why I made this an annual event." bahagyang napatawa ako sa reklamo ni Mommy.
"Because you want your anniversaries to be special and meaningful."
Mommy let out a happy sigh and smiled. "Right."
My mother is very passionate when it comes to our family's charities. We sponsor a lot of schools and orphanage.
"I have two exams later. Both major subjects."
"Oh, yeah. I forgot about your prelims. Good luck on your exams, honey."
My mind was busy the whole day that I almost forgot about the fight I had with Rush. It was odd for him to be in the same cafe though.
I want to call it a total coincidence, but I"m not that naive. And I might not be as mean as before, but I'm still as narcissist and self-absorbed. I just want to make amends with him, but I'm pre-occupied with school and I'm still waiting for the perfect time.
"You and Rush still not okay?" inalis ko ang tingin kay Rush na abala sa pagbubuhat ng weights mula sa may di kalayuan at ibinalik iyon sa katabi kong si Kade.
