Forty-four

Krislene is currently staying at the garden and her mind is pre-occupied with a lot of things. She's thinking of something and she's contemplating weather she would do it or not. She knew the situation of her family so she's trying to balance out everything if what she has on mind is somehow acceptable.

She sighed.

And that's what her Mother heard as soon as her Mother went out of the garden.

"What's bothering my Princess?" Her Mother asked and she immediately looked at her and smiled, "Good morning Mom."

Her Mother sit beside her and smiled back, "Good morning anak. You seemed pre-occupied. What are you thinking?"

She looked down, still contemplating on how she would tell it to her Mother. Syempre, iniisip nya ang sitwasyon. But maybe if she told her Mother about it, she could give her some advice right?

"Mom?" She called her Mother's attention.

"Yes Princess?"

"Pangit ba kung hihilingin ko kay Dylan na magcelebrate kami? I mean, with our situation right now, I feel like, parang makakabastos naman ako kapag nag-celebrate kami tapos si Ate K may pinagdadaanan."

Her Mother looked at her in awe before she answered, "Anak, why would feel that in the first place?"

"Because Ate K is not happy. Ate K is hurting. And Ate K is going through a lot of things right now. And the best we could do is to be here to give her strength always."

Then her Mother held her hand and gently squeezed it. "Anak, we're all here for your Sister. Hindi lang naman ikaw o si Dylan ang nagbibigay lakas sa Ate mo. Besides, you're not Kristene. You have your own life anak. You deserve to be happy. I know how selfless you are but think of this. Paano mo mabibigyan ng good vibes ang Ate mo kung hindi ka naman masaya? Paano mo rin bibigyan ng lakas ang Ate mo kung maski ikaw nanghihina?"

Napatitig sya sa kanyang ina kapagkuwan bago sya magsalita, "So is it okay if Dylan and I will celebrate tomorrow? I mean hindi ba talaga ako makakabastos?"

Her Mother smiled at her, "Of course anak and no. Don't think of that okay? You deserve to be happy too."

Somehow, gumaan ang pakiramdam ni Krislene dahil sa sinabi ng kanyang ina. Ang Ate lang naman nya ang iniisip nya. Ayaw nyang sya masaya tapos ang Ate nya may pinagdadaanan. But her Mother is right. How could she make her Sister happy if she's not happy either?

So with that thought she grinned at her Mother. "Thanks Mom! But can I have a request?"

"Sure anak! Ano 'yon?"

Then she told her Mother about her plan for her surprise for Dylan. And she's hoping it will go well as planned.

That day, she made herself busy and her Mom helped her with everything. It's her first time to do it so her Mom is always there for her, ready to lend a helping hand. They finished at literally 12 midnight but there are some that needs to be done the next day. And since she's feeling tired and exhausted, she immediately fell asleep.

The next day, she excitedly went to her Mother and of course, her Mom helped her once again for the finishing touches. And when everything is done by noon time, she called Dylan and just after a few rings, Dylan picked up her call.
