Special Chapter 1 - Serendipity (pt. 1)

Typical day for Dylan is sitting on top of his table while looking at the vast ocean outside of his window. Yep! He's sitting on top of his study table, not on the chair so he could have a better view of the ocean, not far from their house.

He's happy being alone like this, doing nothing but just looking at the ocean. He's used to this. From the moment he's born in this world, he lives just near the ocean. So maybe that explains why he's used being like this each and every single day.

But honestly, he's waiting for that big jumbo jet to pass through their place.

"There it is!" He uttered in glee while looking at the plane just above the ocean that will also pass through above their house.

While it's getting near above their house, Dylan's dream is getting clearer to him. He wanted to fly an airplane someday not just a passenger but a pilot.

"I'm definitely gonna fly that big jumbo jet when I grow up." He uttered to himself.

And just after the jumbo jet passes through above their house, he heard a knock on his door.

"King, I'm coming in!"

It was his mother who shouted before she entered his room. And while walking towards him, her mother carries a warm smile for him.

"Hey King! Did you see that big plane?"

He grinned, "Yes Mom. I did!"

"Do you want to ride a plane soon?"

"Not soon but maybe when I grow up, I want to be a Pilot Mom." He said excitedly making his Mom chuckled.

"I'll be looking forward to ride a plane, with you being the Pilot. But what I meant with soon is that, you'll be a passenger for now because we'll be going to the Philippines."

Dylan grunted, "I don't want Mom. I just want to stay here."

Her Mom sat beside him on the table. "King, please come with us this time hmm? Ilang beses na kaming nagpapabalik-balik sa Pilipinas ng Dad mo pero ayaw mo naman sumama. Maski ang kapatid mong si Prince. Kapag daw hindi ka sumama, hindi rin sya sasama."

"Wala naman po kasi akong gagawin doon. I just want to stay here, just watch the plane passes by through the ocean and above our house."

"Please?" Her Mom pleaded. "I'm pregnant with your little Sister and I'll be needing a helping hand from the both of you this time. Isa pa, para may kasama rin si Em— Oh! How about this. And I'll ask my bestfriend na isama ang mga anak nya. For sure, magkakasundo kayo ng mga iyon. Pagkakaalam ko rin, mahilig din sa dagat ang isa sa mga anak nya, kagaya mo."

Pinagkatitigan ni Dylan ang kanyang ina dahil sa sinabi nito. His Mom is right. Her Mom will be needing their help— mostly, his helping hand as the eldest son. But what caught his attention most is what his Mom told him about this someone who loves the sea just like him.

And before he could answer, his Mother cupped his face. "Please Dylan? I assure you, you'll enjoy our vacation in the Philippines. Besides, we'll stay in our rest house in Pagudpud just near the ocean like here."

As long as he'll stay near the ocean, that's what matters to him.

"Okay Mom. I'll come with you in the Philippines this time."

Tuwang-tuwa ang kanyang ina dahil napapayag na rin sya sa wakas kaya't pinupog sya nito ng halik sa mukha na ikinatawa nya.

"Mom stop it!" He uttered while laughing.

"I'm just happy and excited King! Wait, let me call Selene and I'll tell them you're finally coming with us!"

"That one you said that likes the ocean too, sasama din ba sya doon?" He asked and his Mother looked at him in awe.
